Throughout the years I have been here a few times, staff are extremely well presented, they greet you like you're at a silver service restaurant, guide you to a table of choice, and always with a smile. I do love the fact that they are still wearing bow ties and that touch makes it that much more special. Now the review should be about the food, this isnt about a fashion related app! So they do have a very good choice of Italian meals as one should expect. The starters I have always had is Calamari and Whitebait, both are to a high standard but Whitebait is to perfection! I have had their chicken salad a few times, the way its presented is awesome, chicken is cooked as one should expect it, moist and not dry! I have also tried their pasta dishes before and none have disappointed to this day, same goes to their pizza's too! Lastly, their Tiramisu is as good as you can get in Italy! Lovely decoration throughout the restaurant and staff were very friendly. We had aubergine and salad as a starter and aubergine was great! Source for the grilled Samson was so tasty and brown rice risotto was something we never had before. Last but not least, home made creme caramel was THE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD IN OUT LIVES!!! This isn't fine Italian dining but it's extremely reasonable and I found the food quite appetizing. Thankfully I didn't have any hair in my food though like the previous reviewer! We opted for the 3 course set menu (not available Friday and Saturday) which is so cheap its hard to believe - £10 including a beer! I had bruschetta pomodoro to start followed by a very tasty lasagne and finished eveything off with tirimisu. As I said, the place isn't top quality but the service is really good and the food is fine. read more

The menu was quite versatile and intriguing to read even though i couldn't pronounce half of it. The service was extraordinary, they are currently doing a christmas deal 3 course set meals. Absolutely amazing for the value. The food was tasty and I almost felt as if they knew I was going to do a review on them, they never gave me a reason to doubt their ability until unfortunately i found a embedded hair in my pizza. I was horrified! and kinda put off to be honest. I called the waiter, he took away the pizza. Immediately apologising, repeatedly and quickly organised for another pizza to be made. To my suprise when the pizza came, i could swear the size of the pizza increased, haha almost like a bribe. I wasn't complaining yummy. It was the best stonebaked pizza I had eaten. The prep time, spot on and the dessert was a god send. Food really perfect! We ordered salad Buffalo mozzarella, tomato and avocado. It was amazing! Then we got a Spaghetti dello chef and Tagliatelle del vittorio. Both was brilliant! Especially tasty was souse in Spaghetti dello chef. Also we got Panna cotta, it was the best panna cotta for me. Portions sizes good enough. Not big and not small. Prices are reasonable. read more

With no doubts this was one of the best pizzas in the UK since we are living here. Light, tasty and still good even after a while as we ordered it to take away. The tomato sauce was well balanced with no trace of acidity like it often happens in pizza places. The garnishing was generous and made out of quality ingredients, but again, the dough made the difference and allowed a well deserved and unanimous "deliziosa!". read more

I love this restaurant as they always make you feel special and always remember their regular customers. Excellent little family oriented Italian restaurant. Second time I have been, and enjoyable once again. Very tasty bruschetta and nicely presented insalata mista. Have only been here once and it was heaving, so service was slightly slow but they apologised for this and gave us free dessert and drinks. Food was yummy, think i had a pizza here, but the pasta looked lovely too. Its all freshly prepared and they are really good here, its well known in eastbourne for great pasta, so worth the wait if you go at peak times. read more

This is a great place to eat in the centre of town. The service is quick, the food is fab. My friends daughter is coeliac (?spelling?) and cannot eat wheat. They do wheat-free pasta and wheat-free pizza here - so it is really easy to feed the whole family without worrying. Enormous choice on menu. read more

Great servis and very delicious meal!

Large, open-plan seating area makes this a good place for families. The manager always acts as if he knows me even though he doesn't, which I like. (He could be mistaking me for someone else of course :+) The waiters are ok - not enormously friendly, but the turnover in there is so high that I can understand they wouldn't be particularly interested in anyone they didn't already know. Food is good. Never had a bad meal in there. They're offering a reliable standard - you know what you're going to get - and it's very reasonably priced, particulary the lunchtime deals when you can get 2 courses for about 8 quid, which is ace. read more

We love it at Pomodoro; it's better than other so-called 'Italian' restaurants because it serves proper Italian food as well as the usual pizza and pasta that so many places churn out. It's not the cheapest place to eat but they do have a very reasonable 3 course set menu for about £16 for dinner and cheaper if you go at lunchtime. Definitely one of the best places in town to eat out. read more

I have visited this restaurant quite a few times with my other half, for the particular reason that I am coeliac. Whilst the gluten free range is great (any pizza available with gf base, and gf pasta available with any sauce), we have found that the service here is perfunctory at best. I have stopped coming here, due to unsmiling waiter/waitresses, the tables being too close together, and a long wait for anyone to catch on that you just want the bill. Also, as a couple we find we seem to get a lesser degree of service than a family of four, whose screaming child is apparantly the most adorable thing in the world! Even though the prices are good, we will not be returning, which is a disappointment for us. read more
