As I work within walking distance, I'd say I've eaten here at least 50 times and tried every combo of Banh Mi on their menu, including the experimental satay Banh Mi. My favorite is crispy pork, however their pork combo which is a more traditional Banh Mi, and the chicken are also great. Their rolls are fresh, they use good ingredients and always ask "chili and coriander?", to which I reply "yes please". One thing I will say though, is that Banh Mi isn't an everyday food. I found this out by eating them every day for about two weeks when my fridge was broken. Lucky that Convenience on Daws has a huge range of other Vietnamese delights such as cold rolls, vercimilli salads and satays, as well as pad thai, Hokkien noodles, Thai and Indian Currys and more. I will be back!

And what was it, I hear you ask eagerly? $3.50 Vietnamese meat rolls. (Or Banh Mi, if you will). Tucked away just before the corner of Daws Road and Winston Avenue is Convenience on Daws, a teensy little convenience store that has popped up somewhat recently within an equally teensy group of shops. The store is small, sure, but I don't go there for the groceries. I go there for the delicious, fresh made Vietnamese rolls that are seriously hard to come by if you're south of the city. So far I've only tried the crispy pork, and it's doubtful that I'll branch out for something new, due to the deliciousness of said pork. The rolls are also made with a super tasty garlic mayo, handmade by one of the store owners. And did I mention they're $3.50? I did also see fresh cold rolls and steamed chicken buns, but they were merely peripheral - I tend to be a touch single-minded when it comes to Banh Mi. The people that run the store (and I assume own it) are also really lovely, so it's fair to say I have a bit of a crush on this store. *Word of warning for those in search of hangover food: the only downside to this joint is that they're not open Sundays. (I almost cried when I learnt this the hard way)

Not only was the tea quite nice, but I found the service to be very good as well. Certainly worth spending some time here chatting.

The decor is clean, light and modern - a wooden bar with fresh newspapers, mini jars holding sugar and a range of cakes and light meals to satisfy a morning tea, lunch or arvo craving. My latte was not the best I've had in Adelaide, but still worth a mention. The banana bread I had however - delicious. Thick cut, homemade, toasted - what more could you ask for? How about wonderfully moist (shudder at that word) and yet light at the same time? You got it. Can I have the recipe please!? Overall the service was nice, just one guy was manning the cafe but that's all it needs on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. I hope to see them expand into breakfasts maybe! P.S. You can also buy your 2L bottle of non-homogenised Tweedvale milk here to take home for $4.50! Yay!

I really like how the meals weren't soy based which you get a lot in vegan/vegetarian places, but all the meals are very healthy and thoughtfully made. The coffee was great too, they make a beautiful almond milk coffee and they said they make their almond milk in house which is amazing. This would be a great place not just for vegans/vegos but everyone its very welcoming. I wish we had a great little place like this in Sydney!

The bread was delicious and they were very generous with the avocado, leaving me more than satisfied. I also ordered a hot cacao which was quite unlike an other hot chocolate I've had before. It had a distinct cocoa taste rather than being very sweet and creamy which I suppose is what you from using cacao vs melted chocolate. I'm definitely keen to come here again will recommend this place to all my vegan and vego friends!

They serve breakfast from 8 until 12 week days, and until 2pm on Saturday. Their breakfast menu is standard, but the food is fresh and hearty. While their foccacias look good and have a tasty range of fillings, they end up being a little small. Mine came out, stacked elegantly one half leaning off the other, looking sadly small and lonely on the plate. I had the prosciutto and cream cheese option, and they're generous on the pig! They use a very thick and tasty type of prosciutto, which went well with the cream cheese and baby spinach leaves. I finished feeling almost satisfied, which I didn't mind, because it meant I could get myself cake later on. I was pleased to find that they do a great coffee - strong and smooth, not too hot, and a generous size. Definitely the best coffee to be had in this centre. Their "Happy Hour" is one for the oldies - from 2.30pm to 3.30pm they have coffee and cake for $6.50 and coffee and biscuit for $4.50. Any later and people won't be sleeping that night.
