Avoid Poly Performance at all costs! Deceptive business practices!! I purchased a smittybilt winch from them because they had a decent price on it and SEEMED legitimate. I bought the winch Sunday and after not getting an update for 2 business days I reached out on Wednesday just to be told they are refunding my order because that price was a mistake and the winch cost more now. Once they finally approved the return (which I had to pay shipping for) they tried to claim the item was lost/damaged during shipping even though I had the tracking number to confirm delivery. Terrible customer service. I have 500 miles on my coilovers and uppers on my tacoma. Coilovers are advertised as 2-3" of lift. The upper control arm has rubbed the hose to the reservoir and my coil and won't even extend all the way because the upper control arm hits my coilover. They have told me that it's basically my fault for not making the adjustments to it, and that it's preset too high. But it should have come correct out of the box. They told me they won't do anything for me. read more

This review is for some work I had done a couple years ago. The reason why I am so late in writing the review is that I have become increasingly angry at the shop because I have now had to re-do every bit of work I paid them to do two years ago. Unfortunately my emails to them went unanswered, so I decided to just take care of things on my own. I just spent a weekend fixing the last of their screw-up, so I figured I'd channel my frustration into a review. I had a complete Synergy steering system installed on my Jeep JK, including track bar, mount, steering sector shaft brace, drag link, and tie rod. The whole shebang. The Synergy parts are awesome, but the installation was ALL done incorrectly. Over the last two years here is what I learned (in chronological order): 1. Within 500 miles of the work being done, the track bar became so loose that I got severe death wobble on the highway. Thank God I wasn't coming down Highway 18 from Big Bear (I had just finished that stretch). I had to tighten it up on the side of the freeway while my panicked wife regained her sanity. 2. The drag link was installed at the wrong angle so that it whacked into my steering stabilizer and diff cover, damaging the paint and contributing to them also coming loose. I have pictures immediately following the install and it is very obvious that they did NOT follow their own printed instructions. 3. The tie rod was installed BACKWARDS (reversed side-to-side). 4. The pinch clamps on all the parts were not aligned with the clamping collars (per the instructions), causing the drag link and tie rod to come loose and cause steering problems. 5. Lastly (and this one is the piece de la resistance) they recommended and installed a front track bar relocation bracket and flipped my drag link despite me only having 2.5" of lift. I have since learned that you only do this if you have MORE THAN 3" (usually 4"-6"). The reason is that you lose a HUGE amount of down-travel. They added 4" of bump stop to my front to keep the drag link from hitting, which left me with literally less than 2" of down-travel. Repeated emails to them after the first couple of incidents went unanswered. I spent three days in SLO (paying for meals and a hotel room while waiting or them to complete the work). They worked slowly, despite knowing that I was doing this. Generally the guys there were all very pleasant to deal with - friendly, and prior to the work being done were good communicators. However, based on my experience I have SERIOUS concerns about the level of competence of their installers. They didn't even read or follow the instructions that came with the parts manufactured next door at their sister company! read more

I bought a part from Poly Performance that was manufactured by Advance Adapters. I am on Active Duty in the Army and received orders that I may be deploying later this year so I unfortunately had to abandon my project that I bought the part for. I was instructed by Poly Performance to ship the part directly back to manufacturer (AA) which I did at my own expense. Several weeks later I received a refund which was only a fraction of the original cost. I called Poly Performance and inquired why that was the case, the associate told me the charge was probably from the manufacturer but they would look into it and call me back. They never did, so several days later I called again and another associate again tried to tell me that the charges again came from the manufacturer, but I'd already spoken with them and knew that was not the case. Eventually I got to speak with a manager and finally got the real answer that they charge a 20% restocking fee. My item was pretty expensive so 20% of that was a decent sum of money to me. I think it is ridiculous that I am being charged a 20% fee by Poly Performance when the part wasn't even really stocked, sold, or shipped by them; they were simply the middle man. I tried to plead my case with the manager but in the end he basically told me 'tough luck'. So if you think there is even a small chance you are going to return your item, DO NOT BUY FROM POLY PERFORMANCE because you'll be losing 20% of the refund on that expensive thing you bought. If you are a military member I would again suggest that you DO NOT BUY FROM POLY PERFORMANCE because our situations can change rapidly and outside of our control and they will take your money like they did mine and not care. read more

Their customer service is D1!! I was in direct contact with John Ambos and he helped me through the entire reordering process of my shocks since the original ones I ordered weren't available! He also offered very helpful insight on what the best shock would be for my application. Despite me still opting out for the regular geometry shock and I really needed the extended travel John was able to make it possible for me to get the correct shocks regardless of the previous order being finalized. I have ordered quite a bit of products from this company and it has been hit or miss, some good, and some bad. After the latest incident, I will no longer be a customer. They sent me a defective "leaking" Fox shock for my Jeep JLU. It was never installed and had zero miles on it. I did put it in a vice so I could compress it and verify that it did not react like the matching one. I called and told them it was leaking and sent photos. THEY CONFIRMED THE PHOTOS SHOWED IT to be a leaking shock and sent me a return label (which they didn't want to do, but finally did). When they received the shock, they dismantled it and caused further damage (cosmetic damage, which they said I caused, which clearly I didn't cause I sent pics of the shock before I mailed it in). In addition, I don't believe they are authorized by FOX to dismantle and diagnose FOX warranty issues. This is going on weeks now! Poly Performance has poor relationships with it's vendors, specifically FOX, because they want you to mail at your own expense the defective shock to FOX and wait weeks for a warranty claim to be performed. All I wanted was them to send me a replacement shock and they could wait for the defective one to be replaced by FOX and put it back in inventory. I have had to open a credit card dispute with VISA. Avoid this company, they will not stand behind the products they sell and will accuse you of things you never did (ie. causing further damage) which is silly, it is a shock, who cares about cosmetics, I simply don't want a bad, leaking shock installed on my Jeep. They keep saying they will send the shock to FOX for a warranty evaluation but want me to pay to ship it there??? I thought the return label they sent me was so they could send me a replacement, not so they could act as unauthorized engineers for FOX and dismantle the shock and give me their opinion * which is worthless. They are not FOX! Bottom line, if you choose to do business with this company, be prepared to fight them if anything goes wrong. They do not stand behind their products, they blame the customer, and they won't take responsibility for products they sell. They simply should have just replaced the shock (sent me a replacement) and had FOX replace the defective one and then added it back to their inventory. Instead, I am having to warn customers of their poor customer service, false allegations, long response time, and open a credit card dispute with VISA. I can only give this company 1 star out of 5. When I mailed the shock in, they said they would send a replacement immediately. This didn't happen. Please review copy of email! If Poly Performance wants to send this shock to FOX for warranty and FOX determines there was nothing wrong with the shock, I will gladly edit my review. However, they need to also tell FOX they dismantled the shock also, unless they are authorized FOX technicians. Poly Performance will not confirm or deny that they are an authorized service/repair tech for FOX shocks. read more

These people are about the worst in the business to buy online from. My First suspension order was placed. I knew that I'd be "charged immediately since i used paypal". I get an invoice. 3 days go by with no tracking. I call and leave a message. I get a call back stating that it will be 2-3 weeks before the MFG ships it. OK. out of PP's control. Fair enough. ( but it would have been nice to be notified). I decide to wait and cross my fingers that it is 2 weeks instead of three. 2 weeks go by. no update. I call and ask to be refunded. I speak with someone and he asks why I am cancelling. I tell him that I need a suspension quickly at this point and I've found a comparable one in stock at another supplier. He checks to make sure he can match the price. Also checks stock. States he can be competitor's price by $17. Great. In stock too. Great. I go for it. suspension shows up 4 days later. with only one rear shock. I call. I'm then told that they will send me a return label or I can buy another shock. I'm in a serious time crunch now and not happy, but regardless of now paying more to buy from them than one of their competitors, I i relent and agree to buy it. They agree to ship it 3 day. I request that they put a spanner wrench on the order too. ( which i paid for as well). 3 days pass. I get a spanner wrench . I get no tracking for a shock. I get no update on the shock. I get nothing from them. Now I'm cancelling my "shock order" and just getting it from someone else and I'll have it in a day. These folks are awful at communication and worse at customer service. There are plenty of other options to get aftermarket parts. There are other companies that are professional and communicate appropriately. Suspension set ups are not cheap. One would think that a $1500 order would garner a tiny degree of appreciation from a vendor. That is not the case with PP. Go somewhere else if you have the option. I based my comfort in buying from PP on Yelp reviews in part, (granted other reviews on the net are scarce about them at best) and I figure that a review representative of general customer experience was warranted. read more

I did not like my experience with Poly Performance. There were a few things that made me upset in choosing to purchase from these guys. 1. My products took longer than 48 hours to ship from the time of order, and were shipped separately. 2. The sales rep assured me the part number I chose would work for my application, it did not. 3. There is a mandatory 20% restocking fee. This is absurd for anyone in online retail in my opinion. 4. The communication skills of customer service reps is non existent, Emails are sent with paperwork, but not once did anyone answer my questions or concerns directly. Never again, do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. I got off cheap. All I ordered was brake hoses and only one out of three were right. One was used and had the threads stripped out. Due to the order being placed awhile back they pretty much told me to pack sand and denied the fact that they would have made a mistake. I placed an order on June 25th. All was not in stock so they called and asked if I wanted to wait or pay another shipping to send the one out, I payed as I needed the part. About 2 weeks go by and I realize that the item had came to my town and been returned, then the same thing with the next package. At this point I had called them about 5 times to either fix the issue or get a refund. I'm told by multiple people that I can not recieve a full refund as they can't refund shipping. The items were less than shipping so I said to keep shipping it until it makes it to me. 2 more weeks go by of them not calling or trying to contact me and then I finally get ahold of them today. Turns out they have been holding the items the whole time and weren't going to resend them out. The guy says he needs to charge for shipping again? How the hell does that make sense. I would recommend other Canadians ordering parts online to buy elsewhere. Two of the bigger items I ordered where discountinued so I was shorted but still initially charged the entire amount. First off I would like to say this was the second time at the actual store of Poly Performance. First time I was there I was told where I could order the steel I needed cheaper. I also got a small tour of the facility and ran into a buddy from back in High School. Great atmosphere, happy people in general. Second time I went in for some weld in threaded inserts. Got them looked up for me and the parts were in my hand in less than 5 minutes. I was then talking with the owner (Dave) about some tie rod accessories I had recently ordered from a different company. He then told me to wait one sec and he was off. He came back with a big bag of the same part, but a much better (synergy mfg) design. I already had the parts I needed, but i think he wanted me to see how much better his parts were, so he gave two of them to me for free! John can talk bs but doesn't know much about Jeep JK and doesn't return calls, guess that's his strategy when sells you a weld on bracket and a relocation bracket (cannot use both, and I asked him about that!). Now try to get a refund from them, Dusty doesn't respond to emails about return no, guess same strategy like John, but when you email them about negative review he calls you back in 5 min lmao (John was confessing me one time that he's two weeks behind on emails).
