The famous LOVE sign made of locks is such a unique and charming detail, and there are plenty of other beautiful corners to explore. The video also shows an area with food and drink kiosks, which adds to the lively and enjoyable atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting if you're traveling to Toronto. The atmosphere is wonderful, everything is very well preserved, and it's a great place to walk around, take photos, grab something to eat or drink, and simply enjoy the surroundings. There's such a large selection of gifts or fun little trinkets to buy, it's always a blast seeing the creatively crafted items they have to offer. The ambiance is absolutely stunning, with a warm, welcoming feel that the lights and energy bring. My favourites the hot chocolate. It's so warm, sweet and delicious! Last time I visited, I bought a pair of cozy fluffy mittens. Still wear them all the time for the winter season, amazing quality and so cute!

Within a few minutes of downtown, in the middle of Canada's largest city you can literally find yourself deep inside of a real forest setting. The trail system is very well maintained and used for a variety of purposes from dog walking, hiking, mountain biking, etc. It's been estimated that there are nearly 100km of trail system within the Don Valley if you include all of the trails that connect in the surrounding area. To start exploring most people will begin at The Brickworks, the Pottery Road trailhead, or the large parking lot at Taylor Creek. You can explore the Don year round. Fall is probably the best time, but you do need to be careful if it's the rainy season as the clay based trails get very muddy and very sticky. Enjoy real nature in your urban backyard.

I've spent a lot of time in this neighbourhood growing up, so I feel the need to write about it. The Chinatown in question is the one at Spadina and Dundas. It's probably the oldest Chinatown in Toronto. As a kid, my mom and I would take the 501 streetcar along Queen Street East and West, and would transfer onto the Spadina 77 bus. The 77 bus no longer exists. Streetcars have taken over. However, I relived my bus memories when streetcars weren't running last November. I recall taking the bus between Chinatown where my car was parked and Rogers Centre for the Taylor Swift concert. There is a song called the Spadina Bus. It's now in my head as I write this review. Back in the day, stores weren't open on Sundays. However, Chinatown was an exception. We came here to get groceries, grab a bite to eat, visit a bakery, and then head home. My mom was good having us pay for a single fare. We shopped long enough to catch the 505 streetcar that got us to Broadview station. We'd then travel to Main Street station and take the Main 64 bus southbound to get home. It felt like a drag carrying bags of groceries onto various TTC vehicles. I kind of miss the simplicity. Less felt like enough. When my dad got a car, we visited this Chinatown often for groceries. Our dentist was also in the area. I do not have fond memories with that dentist. He has since retired. For a couple of years, I took Cantonese classes on Saturdays at Ryerson Public School, which was a block west of Spadina. Afterwards, I'd hang out at Dragon City. I remember getting a silver ring in the lobby. I wore it proudly all through high school. I still have it. It still looks great! I got my first pineapple drink in the food court downstairs when it was cool. These days, it's creepy. Dragon City has Juicy Dumpling these days, which I love. Soup dumplings. Pan-fried dumplings. Chilli wontons. Green onion pancakes. The food is cheap and delicious. There used to be a store that had cool items, from air fresheners, to pencil cases, on Spadina, across from Dragon City. I was in the marching band at my high school and played clarinet. We were marching in the Santa Claus parade. I needed gloves with the tips cut off, so that I could continue playing music and covering the holes with my fingers. This store had cutoff gloves. I was thrilled! They kept my hands warm as I played and marched in the parade in November. I like coming down to this Chinatown and parking my car at a garage. Rosewood Asian Cuisine has excellent dim sum and is open late. I often park in the parking garage next to this eatery. When I have time. I have some dim sum at Rosewood. I have brought friends there who have raved about the food. I recently met up with two friends here. We all lived in Winnipeg and worked at the same company. Two of us live in the greater Toronto area. Our other friend lives in Vancouver. He was in town, so we met up here for lunch. They loved the selection and enjoyed catching up. I love the food and the hours. I'm salivating. I suppose that I do have my usual stores that I visit. I like Kung Fu Tea on Spadina, on the west side, just south of Dundas. There are a few stores south of this bubble tea joint where you can get souvenirs at cheap prices. This Chinatown is close to Kensington Market. You can make a day of it by hanging out at both eclectic and cool Toronto neighbourhoods. I'm due to return. I want good dim sum and cheap food from Juicy Dumpling! (376)

green space in Toronto is always important space, even more so when you are downtown, or in the…read moredowntown area, its nice to have a piece of land, where you can just disconnect from it all, this piece of space is perfect for this. its far from perfect as it is completely covered on the borders with buildings both old and new, but i feel like this is a necessary green space for Toronto, right in-between one of Canada's busiest museums and arguably one of Canada's busiest universities, this green space is almost always empty of people and full of animals just going around doing animal things. transit options is the st. George station directly, the 26 dupont bus with a bit of a walk on the northern end of the park, and the 94A wellesley to the southern end of the park. come here and just disconnect.

I have visited downtown Oakville a handful of times. I like it. It reminds me of being in the Beaches where I grew up. You get a nice view of Lake Ontario. There are parks that overlook the lake. There are also stores that you can peruse. The downside to any downtown location is trying to find parking. It's such a vibrant location that it can be tough to find parking. Everyone seems to be there! Street parking often means shelling out to pay for it. However, it depends on where and when you are downtown. I was recently at Shanghai Alley Gourmet. I had arrived after work on a Wednesday at roughly 5 pm. I had to pay for an hour of parking on Thomas Street. Parking was then free after that. When I visited Chocolato with Tommy Cafe, I found free parking for twenty minutes on Robinson and Dunn Streets. It was perfect because I was grabbing a couple of amazing hot chocolates to go. I need to go back there. I do miss Joy FreshTea in this area. It had excellent bubble tea and snacks. I was sad to learn that it had closed. Then again, many businesses in the Lakeshore Road West and Bronte Road area have come and gone. I don't know if it's the location itself that doesn't drive business or if leasing a store in this plaza is too expensive. I need to spend more time in this area. I liked seeing Roots and COBS Bread as I walked over to Shanghai Alley Gourmet. There was also a butcher shop that gave you a comfortable neighbourhood vibe. I have a friend who lives in Oakville. It's a good reason for me to drop by, see her, and discover the downtown area with her. Downtown Oakville is cool. I'll be back soon! (312)

Overall, it looks better maintained (wider, newly paved sidewalks, landscaping), a bit more mix commercialized stores (lululemon, kit & ace, Anthropologie), and just nicer, newer looking storefronts. The whole strip looks uniform. Whereas Port Credit is older, more narrow walkways, mainly all mom 'n pop stores with some chain eateries, not as nice storefronts. Off-strip, some streets look a bit sketch. It doesn't look as though the City has put as much money into maintaining this area as Oakville does their downtown. BOTH areas front Lake Ontario with parks overlooking the water. Although both areas have some vacancies, the overall impression of Downtown Oakville is great - especially during the warmer months on non-peak times!
