When Dr. Arnold Cohn, Registrar for the Manitoba Chiropractors Association (MCA), was asked why a patient's evidence was excluded from an investigation into a serious injury caused by his colleague, Cohn refused to respond. Evidence omitted by MCA included a third-party medical review (prior to seeing Cohn's colleague) that only indicated a slight stiffness of the patient's back, and included medical records (after seeing Cohn's colleague) that confirmed severe physical trauma to both sides of the patients lower back. According to email communications between the organization and patient, Cohn appeared to be unforthcoming. Upon the patient's request for transparency regarding the investigative process, Cohn blocked all communications with the patient, suggesting that Cohn and his organization directed the outcome of their own investigation to favour the long-time member accused of the severe injury. One can premise that MCA uses its platform under the guise of neutralism to acquire details that may benefit their members should a patient's complaint require future litigation in a court of law.
