Pollution Studios is awesome. They have been my source for grip and electric on almost every project i've ever done. They are always super nice guys and very easy to work with. They have always been willing to work with me to get me what I need and at the price I need it. They have even come in on SUNDAY just to let me grab some emergency items (though I did return the favor with a cold 12-pack). Awesome dudes. solid gear. Just good people to know. They love (AND are BEYOND capable) of supporting both established professionals and artists on the come up. Here are the nitty gritty low down dirty facts: I have produced one shoot on location at Pollution and another offsite in association with Pollution. Shoot on Pollution Sound Stage: Produced a commercial shoot for a client on ZERO (well minimal) notice with the Pollution team. Shoot was a huge success. Client was so impressed it won us the next two jobs from same client. This shoot was entirely green screen. Asher one of founders served as our DP / Cam Operator. One of his team served as multi-purpose Grip/Electric/Sound. Pollution connected us with a DIT/Editor who was available at our budget. Loved that vegan catering and crafty options exist. Shoot with Pollution as Studio Partner: The only thing to say here is that we owe Pollution a deep debt of gratitude for their production efforts in association with our feature. I have shot a music video, show for The Food Network and a short film at Pollution. They are a well-stocked soundstage with incredibly friendly prices and the people that work there are excellent to deal with. I've produced 3 shoots at Pollution, all different budgets. The place is great - amazing people willing to help out in anyway they can. They have good equipment and good rates, so I often consider it a one stop shop. They've also introduced me to great crew members who've filled in for us when we're down a man - I now continue to work with those people. I have never seen so many handsome grips, and electrics in one studio in my life. Great people to work with, the equipment is well kept and managed, the studio space has nice silent AC, and high ceilings, perfect for building medium to large sets. Pollution Studios is a great place to shoot any of your projects. We had a commercial shoot on the Main Stage there and it went by so smoothly. They were willing to do a walk through anytime and were accommodating with everything else we needed. There's also a large kitchen area and client/screening room that was helpful. You can rent all your grip and electric gear from them along with other production supplies. I admit, I have worked for Pollution, but I have also been on the client/customer end of things at this studio as well, and they've got everything you need at great rates and prices. Yes, the atmosphere could use a little work, but for independent films, music videos, and commercials, Pollution has what you're looking for to get the job done. I've heard rumours of "hidden costs" by other customers, but to all producers out there: read the paper work and don't blame it on the studio!! It's all on the website and hard copies are on hand. These owners and employees are some of the friendliest in Los Angeles, and it's impossible to verbally explain everything you want to know. Just read the fine print! Pollution Studios! My favorite place to shoot. I've worked at Pollution on a number of projects. They are accomodating for any size project with any size budget. The guys at Pollution always find a way to make it work-- the owners have backgrounds working as crew, so they understand the frustrations, complications, and problems that arise during production. They work hard to make every client feel like their utmost priority. They appreciate your business and make a huge effort to keep you. Their facilities are also great! They have a white cyc, a chroma cyc, two stages, flats for rent, G&E packages-- the works! They also have a number of offices and spaces for the production side of things. Pollution rocks! I am a makeup artist and I've worked on a handful of productions at the studio including a music video, photo shoots and a commercial. Working with the guys at Pollution were some of the best experiences I've had in the last 6 years in this industry. Ben and Asher are professional, prepared, accommodating and incredibly kind and easy to work with. While on location, the Pollution crew was super present and I didn't have to waste precious time tracking them down for any needs that arose. Meals are on time and tasty with both vegetarian and meaty options...yum! At the studio, I had everything I needed; they have makeup/wardrobe rooms ready and waiting with extra director's chairs which I love... I would recommend them to anyone looking to shoot, rent gear, or both. They really bent over backwards for me and made the shoot days really stress free. I have worked at Pollution a number of times over the past few years, mostly on music videos, short films, and commercials. The facilities are well-suited to a variety of independent production needs including an ever-increasing amount of grip and lighting gear, post facilities, a scene shop, makeup and wardrobe rooms, and a client room with an HD monitor so you can send a feed from your camera to a dedicated space rather than having to rent a separate client monitor and find a corner of your set that would otherwise be used for production. They've made some serious capital improvements and are continually reinvesting to make the experience better for their customers. While they do cater to some higher end clients, the bread and butter of their business has been the independent film community. The guys who run the place think of film as a grand communal endeavor and treat new clients as additions to the ever-growing "Pollution family." They are very loyal to said family members. To that end their rates make them one of the best values for money in the business and they can and will work with productions on nearly any budget. They are very loyal and have even been known to barter services in lieu of traditional payment with friends and repeat customers. If you need a stage or production services for your project you're crazy not to check them out and ask for a quote. read more

Pollution is such a pleasure for all size productions. I am a freelance producer who has had only great experiences with the gear, space and staff here. On my lower budget jobs they have worked with me to meet my gear and space needs in the price range I can afford. In a pinch they have prepped packages that would take other houses hours to pull. Pollution is founded and run by film makers and they foster a sense of community, accommodating you and your project so that you can make your pretty pictures and tell your stories. I have also hosted fundraising events with live music here and they have that down to a science. I saw another post here about issues with permitting, but it must have been the nature of that particular event, because ours was permitted and a seamless operation. On a bigger budget video I did this fall we used basically every space at Pollution. They have 2 buildings now with lots of looks and inherent production value. It is a dream to have all of your G&E needs right on site so that you know you are covered no matter what happens. Not to mention the make-up and wardrobe rooms and other comfortable amenities. I recently rented equipment from Pollution for a short film shoot and they were great. The equipment is all nicely tagged with purple Pollution stickers so it's easy to keep organized. All the other stages that I checked out in the same price range were pretty ghetto, so Pollution was such a great find.
