I contacted Mr. Appel when I was being wrongfully charged with neglect and child endangerment, the police had no body cam footage I recorded them saying they have no idea what time my son went missing, my son is 4 he has autism, we were at the hospital all night we both had nueroviris my mother took my other son to daycare and him and I were sick in bed we got home from the hospital at 7am. We received an Amazon package at around 1:30pm, i have signs that say to lock the gates no one listens, around 2:40pm I wake up my son is next to me I check my phone to see if his rx is ready at cvs. Next thing I know at 3:15pm The police are banging at my door. They posted pictures all over fb and wouldn't take them down. I obtained all the discovery and footage needed to prove I was never arrested on bay avenue and my son was never roaming bay avenue, which Mr. Appeal had since June. I have never been arrested I have no history or drug or substance abuse, however my pre-indictment hearing was adjourned 5 times and I was told by his paralegal that "I'm old school I don't need to copy you on correspondence" that's a huge lie, you have to keep your client in the loop on adjournments, any correspondence at all, other wise that seem as ex parte, I was arrested June 3rd I work in the health care industry so by law my boss had to suspend me until these charges were dropped. I'm so broke and behind and finally after the last adjournment that couldn't be explained I went To the prosecutors office myself and said my attorney won't communicate, my 6th amendment constitutional right to a speedy trial is being totally disregarded and I was told this could take three years by appeal I said I don't think so I was charged with the wrong thing, Dcpp cleared my I wasn't under the influence of anything nor have I ever been arrested, I have full footage that this was a complete lie. Your entitled to your pre indictment hearing no later than 30 days after your arrest and a jury has to be formed by 70 days after your arrest, at day 108 after my arrest he has some crazy person I never met or spoke to (You'll get contacted if that the night before at 7pm by a fast talking, rude person that claims to have no discovery regarding your case and he will scream at you on the phone to bring $75 dollar or else and when you give him an indefinite no, he goes behind your back and tell the prosecutor that you will be applying for a PTI at your hearing (ex parte) I asked his firm week prior to file a SOA they told me that was illegal. I think this firm is on the take for this PTI program because you have to have council the entire time and you have to pay major fines you are subjected to period-if drug tests you have to attend rehab (even if you have no substance abuse issues or prior issues) you have to attend mandatory psychological testing even if it's not warranted this could take up to three years you have to see a probation officer twice a week (how does one hold a job) and you are not allowed to leave the state of NJ and there are no guarantees that you get charges expunged. They uploaded none of my discovery at all for 4 months to Jed's, the prosecutor had no idea she thought she was handing a pti application that day and I let her know, I said no to to this. an attorney cannot make any decisions for a client without their approval, they think they can scream and yell at you to get you to do what they want, the paralegal told me he was going to sue me, lol because I had three standard questions. They market up front tha they "work with your income. Not true they want you in this PTI game for the long term. They are so awful, I filed a complaint with the bar, I hope anyone else that deals with them Does the same.
