Where do I start? Ok, I will start by mentioning how incompetent this police department is. My son…read morehas been missing for 5 months, and it took me 4 times before this department even filed a missing person's report. Whenever I would attempt to report him missing. The officers at the station kept giving me the same excuse over, and over again. Didn't even bother asking for a picture of my son. At least 4 times I was told it was because of his age. It really irritates me to the very core that this department hasn't yet been reported for poor conduct. So it's safe to say my next move will be to ontact the news.

They have you backstab your fellow officers in order to gain rank, have you pad call and case stats to look good, gauge your physical ability to fight and have a foot pursuit by a row machine test! From the chief down you cannot trust them to want the best for you unless it's only to their benefit. If you try to leave they will sabotage that opportunity to either trap you with them or cause you to leave the field. They refuse to let officers leave their department to grow in their career, they only care if you stay with them. Their leadership is less compassionate than Army leadership! If you have your own brain and think for yourself, there is nowhere to grow in this department. You have to be a sheep and worship their ranks. So many that hold rank are wannabe tough guys that don't know what deployment is or truly sacrificing, they are boys with badges wanting to be men. Hard to be a man who has deployed twice work with boys trying to be tough when they are pretending to care about their people. If you think of working for this place, run far away. They look good to their community and on their FB, but in reality they are scum to be around. I have experienced better leadership in the Army than here. If your a veteran I would steer away from this crap place because these civilians will tell you they are better than you because they learned how to be a cop off of YouTube. There is ZERO integrity within any of their leadership.

There were some details left out when I had contacted the police about my situation and I think it was some confusion as to why charges were not pressed yet on a take case. As far as any officer that was incompetent, he where dealt with by protocol and are no longer on the force. All the officers this community are good people and deserve respect. With this retraction I leave on this note, apologize to the Crawford police department for the 1 star review I had left & cannot seem to log in to take down. I felt like I had been done wrong. I used to feel safe when I first moved to this town. But not anymore. On more than one occasion…read morethey have proven to be incompetent officers on duty. For instance I was being harassed by my abusive ex husband, and they would not do anything to help me. I ended up having to go through a district attorney to get a protective order. On another occasion I was raped in my own home and I'm sharing this with you because I want you to know how serious this was. After having a rape kit done and going through a lot of emotional trauma and physical pain I got brave enough to try and face what happened. Only about two days after the incident occurred and was told by Officer Brian Porter that the evidence would deteriorate and wouldn't be any good. Even though it is protected somewhere safe under lock and key and is good for 2 years. He's very cold about what happened towards me and basically treated me like I wasn't being honest about what happened. He basically said it was too late. When the statute of limitations on rape is 10 years,Now I don't feel comfortable coming forward about what happened and don't feel like the authorities can keep me safe or take me seriously! This is also a police department that hired a child molester as a police officer and was later let go from the force when it blew out of the water all over the news. It's really pathetic. On another occasion I had called about screaming intoxicated teenagers in the parking lot vandalizing the apartment in my neighborhood on a Saturday night and didn't even have anyone on duty in town to come take care of the incident. Another police officer from the surrounding community had to come out and it took at least an hour before him to get there. By the time he did they had already left. This is a perfect example of abuse of authority. Whatever happened to protect and serve?? It is truly sad and truly sickening. Disgusting display of public service. Once I even had a panic attack on another occasion and chief clay Bruton/Bruten (whatever) arrived on the scene and proceeded to scream in my face when I was trying to calm down from my panic attack. I have a serious panic disorder. It's not right for police officers to harass citizens. In my opinion the county needs to launch a full investigation on these people and possibly even replace them. There are too many things they have done that is really unsettling.

Before they got a warrant to enter my home, they came in with me so i could finally pee (they had keot me detained in the sun on my porch) and many of them (not just the two we had agreed upon) followed me into my house (with no warrant yet), and when i said the rest needed to leave bc they had no warrant one of them grabbed my arm and assaulted me in my hallway. So, for calling about a simple verbal argument my bf is now in jail, my house is torn apart, i was in the heat for hours, and i have a sore arm from physical abuse. Ill file a complaint but it wont go anywhere and Ill move away bc we have no rights here!!!! Im also gunna try to sue bc my rights were BLATANTLY violated.

That is public record and shouldn't need the city attorney's office for permission.The report is needed urgently for the bank regarding a stolen debit card and use of the card 4 times. Not community oriented and impossible to get thru to anyone.

We tried to clean up the best we could, but Kip's overnight bag was stolen by a lot lizard at the Texaco, so he had to wear my Calvin Klein's, three sizes too small the rest of the way home. Freckles was drenched in #2, so we stuck her in back in her cage, where she immediately set to screaming for the rest of the ride. It was under these circumstances, Kip trying not to barf because he is sensitive to smells, that we had to drive the last one hundred fifty miles. We got pulled over in Itasca, and the cop gave us a ticket for going 8 over. Sorry I was a little heavy on the gas, officer. I didn't want my hubby back to rehab with another bout with bulimia onset by puking his guts over I-35. Thanks for the empathy. I hope Itasca got a new dirt road with my money.
