Downtown Portland, OR police station
Aaron L.

So far, my interactions with the Police have been friendly and professional. That could have something to do with the fact that I like to work on my laptop at the Starbucks across the street from the Police Station. They also tend to order to "normal" drinks and avoid the Unicorn, fru-fru whipped cream drinks with cherries on top (although I do catch them doing that every once in a while too). But seriously, If you need the police for an emergency, are you really checking the Yelp reviews to see if you should call 911 or not?

Thank you for how you took care of business last Friday (1/20/17). Your Officers showed great restraint, but took steps when needed.

We decided to do some sight-seeing while we waited but I had no idea how mass transit worked. Fortunately, we ran into a pair of Transit Police officers who visited with us, explained how things worked, and suggested some things for us to do while we waited. The two officers could not have been more considerate or helpful.

I'm not worried because I paid but I used my android pay on my phone for the first time and didn't get a printed ticket. Arrogant cop comes on demanding proof and I tried to pull up my info on my phone as he's ushering me off the bus. I'm trying to show him on my acct but its pending and he's being a total dick saying well I don't know when you paid it. You could have done it when I got on the bus! Then his short, fatass partner demands my ID and threatens to write me a ticket!!! Worst police officers I've ever encountered!!!

If you're running along the west-side waterfront pedestrian path, you'll encounter it at the end of the Willamette River Greenway Trail. Although it's tempting to feed the horses, DON'T DO IT! It's very much not allowed, and for anyone familiar with the area you know not to mess with the PPD! I sighed, thinking well at least we have until July 1 to enjoy them, but alas "here's that rainy day." Yeah, "that rainy day" on a 90-degree day in Portland, must be this morning's heavy mist in our overcast start that's making my eyes a little teary, right? I'm sure this could not have been an easy decision for city government. Still .... I've seen this squad working together so many times at so many events. I'm not sure they need any PR professionals with the horses - such powerful charmers. I love patting their soft muzzles and visiting with their police partners. It is especially wonderful to see families with small children interacting with the officer and horse partner. However, I sure wouldn't want to be brought to justice by one of these well-trained gentle giants. I grew up around a Belgian work horse, and he meant business. When he didn't want to be bothered, he made you very aware of his displeasure; horses bite and kick which can cause unbelievable trauma and even death. Think of that with the horse officers and police officers fighting wrongdoers. I don't know if Marvel Comics could come up with better crime-fighting duos. Farewell, Horse Officers. You will be sorely missed. I hope you land well and softly wherever you go. We thank you and your human officer partners for all your service over the years, and we hope that you come back one day soon.

I am a retired police chief and knew all sorts of officers. My salutations to Sgt. Inman. He is a reflection of nothing but the highest standards of good police work in Milwaukie and its department. Seriously it has 197K miles on it and it's just your average white Japanese Grandma car. Nothing special. Nope. Nothing. But for some reason your patrol officers find it a delight to troll me when I'm driving my wife to the Max station and back. I don't know what it is about that car - again nothing special - that you feel necessary to "do that thing" where you hold way back and run my plates only to find there's nothing in your system. Then you speed up flip on the lights pass me in a narrow two lane street (Johnson Creek between SE 45th Pl and SE 32 Ave). What is that all about? It's happened more than once, or twice, or now five times.
