We bought a bag of rice that was tainted with dry food pests (stringy webs/cocoons inside and eggs). I understand that this was not the supermarket's bad, but the manufacturer's bad. Either way, we weren't going to eat a bag of rice that had bugs in it and as a customer, it was the supermarket's issue with their supplier. So, I brought the rice back to return it and had to *argue with the staff* for them to believe me. They insisted that it was just string, so I asked them how could string be sticky or have this texture?!
Anyway, they very adamantly let me exchange it and warned me that I couldn't just buy their product, eat it, then return it because I didn't like it. It was kind of ridiculous and rude. We didn't eat the rice because it was bad, and why would I waste my day carrying a 10lb bag of rice to return it if it was good?
I went back again recently to stock up on my usual foods. The lady asked if I wanted a bag and I said yes. She warned me that they started charging 1kr for bags since about a month ago, but this time she wouldn't charge me because I didn't know. I said thank you and went home only to see on the receipt that she charged me anyway. I know it was only 1kr, but it was dishonest.
So, it looks like they've hired some slightly rude and possibly dishonest people there now. Unfortunate, really. Albeit the service, I still come here to get my tofu, noodles, and condiments.
