The restaurant houses two floors of gorgeous furniture and furnishings, its own licensed bar and a friendly waiter service, all of which ensure every visit here is an enjoyable one. Moonlight Cuisine prides itself on its low fat cooking, so there's no guilt in just letting go and really indulging yourself, and the plush chairs and piped, low-level music create a pleasing, authentic Indian ambience. Takeaway and delivery services are available for those who prefer to eat at home, but I'd definitely recommend a meal out here; go for the Chicken Madras!

Karma Restaurant is on a stretch of the Stratford Road in Shirley, Solihull, that is so densely…read morepacked with competing eateries (particularly Indian curry houses) that it really needed to do something to capture my attention and draw me away from neighbouring businesses such as the Ashiana and Darjeeling Indian Cuisine. It did so (possibly inadvertently) by eschewing the mantra of curry houses all over the city (and the UK) that when it comes to menus, bigger is better. I've become so used to seeing curry menus with quite literally hundreds of different combinations of sauces, sides, and fillings, that seeing such a relatively small menu at the Karma restaurant immediately drew me in, as I have a general rule that if a restaurant has a small menu, then they will presumably have a lot of experience cooking the same few dishes, and therefore will be able to replicate them at a higher level of quality than a chef who cooks five dishes he's never had to before every single night, and Karma proved my theory right and then some. Their prices are in fitting with the area, with mains generally ranging from around £6.50 - £9 for eat in, and a couple of pounds less for takeaway. The interior appears slightly bare and lacking in character (if you're wanting more in this department, check out the similarly excellent Darjeeling Indian just a few doors down), but don't let that put you off, Karma Restaurant is one of the best of Birmingham's famed curry houses that I've visited.

The restaurant is on Kings Norton Green, a lovely area which is sadly neglected when it comes to good places to eat (Mollie's Cafe is an exception). Obviously the fine people of Kings Norton agree with me as on the two occasions we have been the restaurant has been bursting at the seams. The decor is very modern, service is good, the menu is extensive (i mean extensive - lots of chef's specials) and the food superb. Cost is very reasonable - a meal for 5 with starters, mains, sides, poppadoms and drinks (a mixture of alcoholic and non alcoholic) came to £133 so less than £30 each. This has quickly become a Go To place for those of us living on the south-west side of the city and it beats the curry houses in Stirchley hands down. They also do a Sunday buffet for £9.95 per person - havent been to that so cant comment on it though!

For the main meal we order King Prawn madras, now the taste was awful, very bland and missing many flavour that a madras dish should have, not what I expected from Simla Pinks, also a friend ordered the same dish where he received 7 king prawns and I received 5! A good note was the nan was exceptional, very nice quality nan, just shame about the poor curry! I would definitely avoid this place if your in search of a good curry house.

At about 7:30pm on a Sunday there was only one other table occupied and unfortunately no staff out on the floor. After we were seated our waiter alerted us to a special deal, £10 for a starter, main and rice or naan bread - bargain! We had Vegetable samoasas, mixed vegetable pakoras and onion bhajees to start and I chose lamb rogan josh with pilau rice for my main. The starters were good, with exception to the samoasas, which appeared to be made from filo pastry instead of a dough. They were however served with a chickpea-chutney type side, which was pretty good. My curry was well cooked as tasted very good too. Though as the other reviewer has said, it was warm, but far from 'piping hot'. Despite being the lone diners in the place by the time we finished we had to call staff over for the bill. The main complaints I've heard of Shimla Pink before is the price, but seeing as we got a 'special deal' I wouldn't be able to comment on that.

Although initially disappointed, I have become a fan of this Indian restaurant. Indian cuisine is my all time favourite food and this place is one of places on my list of definite revisits. To start I went for the Misrithi Machli. King-sized prawns and salmon, cooked with generous helpings of ginger and garlic, lightly spiced and served on a bed of creamy mushroom sauce. Simply delicious. Main course Bhuna Kathi Gosht. A delicious, medium spicy dish of tender lamb. Roasted in the tandoor, cooked with onions, fresh tomatoes, a touch of fenugreek and coriander. I asked for extra chillies as I like it hot. The service is excellent, the atmosphere in relaxed and comforting. I would place Mango Spice within the top five of Sutton's premier Indian restaurants but don't take my word for it, try for yourself.

It was booked for 6pm so there were only a few people in the restaurant when we got there. We were welcomed and offered a large table near the window (the only window in the whole restaurant). It was warm and gave us some privacy to talk about our girly stuff. As we were seated I eyed up someone's food and noticed that their naan bread was the biggest I had ever seen! Bring it on... The menu had the general selections of a curry house as well as their own signature dishes, but as a newbie I felt I had to go with something I was confident with, so a Lamb Jalfrezi and pilau rice was ordered. The Jalfrezi was nice and yes, the naan bread was huge but it was nothing to write home about. As the night went on it got busier and our service became less and less. They didn't seem to have the staff for a busy Friday night. Everything was just a bit too boring and average; the food, the people, the prices. They need to add a bit of spice to attract me back again. If they made it a bit brighter, livened up the music and started smiling a bit more then I'd go back to try a signature dish.
