Usually you feel so rushed at these dinner/shows but we had plenty of time. The food was very good and there were choices that should have made everyone happy. I cannot say enough good things about this performance!! We absolutely enjoyed it. None of us had ever been to a Murder Mystery before so we were ready for something new! The 2 Cast members were amazing! They kept us entertained and laughing the entire time! At the intermission, they have coffee/tea and desert at the same time. We appreciated this because you're always too full to eat desert with dinner but this gave everyone plenty of time to be ready for the delightful carrot cake they provided. The 2 Stars also stood around after the event to talk to everyone and take pictures! I highly, highly recommend this event! What made it even more special was that I was able to take my 15-year-old also!

After that, I have to say things went off the rails a bit. For a start, this is the first "theatre" that had no stage. Not a small stage, no stage at all. We found ourselves, a group of 30-40 people crammed into a large room on the second floor with barely any room in July with AC so weak it was never below 76F. Then the show began. I was expecting a curtain to rise and a stage to appear, but sadly all the story and acting was done between the tables. I will say the acting ranged from surprisingly good to the obviously inispired acting of the audience members who decided to join in. The story was comedic and easy to follow, with references to Sherlock Holmes and even Indiana Jones. Sadly the heat and the terrible location without a stage made it hard to enjoy when the cast is constantly moving around. If they get a proper venue, I am sure they do wonderful things, but this was more like a test run. That I paid for.

Here are a few suggestions to make your experience the most enjoyable! 1. Remove any expectations of Cirque de Soleil. This is NOT your traditional Cirque de Soleil show. I have seen three Cirque shows, 2 in Vegas and one at the National Harbor in DC. This show is not on that level, it is however a nice upgraded circus filled with acrobats, water and lots of of oooh's and aaahhhs. We had two children and two adults. The kids are 5 and 7 and the entire time their eyes and mouths were open wide. Besides, you get what you pay for..and the last few Cirque shows I saw I sure didnt get the tickets for as much as a discount as I got these! 2. Arrive early! Especially if you have discounted tickets. We brought our tickets on GoldStar and there are two lines that will form. One to switch your printed confirmations for a wristband and one to actually get in. Call me a super planner, but we arrived in the area at 5pm. Had dinner at Red Robin, got over to the ticket trailer at exactly 6:30pm (wristtbands available 2 hours before the show) and then waited in the car for a few and got in line at 7:15pm (doors opens 1 hour before the show. They were a little delayed (about 5 mins) but it wasnt bad. Yes, its a lot of waiting, BUT we were the 3rd family in line and had front row blue level (the middle level) seating. Remember seats are 1st come, 1st serve. Although the tent is very intimate and there really are no bad seats, we still wanted to pick the seats we wanted without effort. Gold level ticket holders have a special VIP line and get to go in before everyone else. We had blue levels and our seats were fine. 3. Go to a later show. The heat comments freaked me out! We even saw a woman come out of the 5:30pm show as we waiting drenched in sweat. Our show however was very comfortable and cool and I'm thinking because the sun had gone down. It was warm, but not unbearable hot. So if you can go to a show a night. It will help! 4. Bring cash. The price for food was reasonable--$5 slushy, $5 funnel cakes, $3 large popcorns, etc. Not bad! But they only take cash so plan ahead of time. Also- we didn't do this, but bring your own snacks! They did not check our person and a few bags of popcorn in a ziplock and juices and water in a big purse could save you some money! 5. Sit back and enjoy! With a little planning this is can be a very enjoyable show. The show was long! We didn't get out until 11:15pm, BUT the show was so captivating that we didnt even realize that the time had gone by. It really is a great show!

WARNING WARNING - Studio Bleu is now a "Dance Moms" studio…read more Don't know what this means? Just Google the TV show "Dance Moms". Yes, they are filming at Studio Bleu this season. Least you think that this is the potential Hollywood break your girl is looking for, you should now that auditions already happened. The Chosen Few have been selected. They are the special ones. The golden children. The rest of the children are locked out from the top choreographers (Ms. Glo); locked out of by-invitation only pool parties; locked out of who knows what else. If you get an invite to audition, or to otherwise participate in "Dance Moms" filming get ready to sign a waiver that says: "Other parties and/or I may reveal or relate information about me of a personal, distressing, private, embarrassing and/or unfavorable nature and that such information may expose me, my family and/or others to public ridicule or embarrassment." Don't believe you are being offered an audition, they want you to sign the waiver so they can show (and humiliate) your child on background (without compensation) while focus remains on the Chosen Few . [[We speak this out of experience, my girl left in tears after such an "audition"]] This used to be a great studio, although it started going down hill after the pandemic. Now - if you can, stay away from Studio Bleu. Sadly some of us have already sunk several thousand dollar's into this year's season and will have to ride it out one more year. I only hope that the same toxic atmosphere portrayed on "Dance Moms" doesn't seep deeper into the studio's overall culture. I'm concerned about Studio Bleu's exploitation of young dancers for the sake of generating drama and entertainment. It's clear that the studio's involvement in "Dance Moms" has overshadowed their commitment to fostering a positive and nurturing dance education. As a parent, it was disheartening to see my girl reduced to a mere pawn in a cynical game of reality television, rather than being given the opportunity to develop their passion in a healthy and supportive environment.
