I have lived in our community for 20 years and Pointe Management Group has been a problem to deal with for years! As stated in many of these reviews, they do not return calls, emails etc. But if they do you are in for a tongue lashing, nasty and act like they control you, not that you are paying them to do good work.
Yes there is corruption between Pointe Management and the contractors in our community, no question about it.
1 - We have awnings, we would all like to get rid of the awnings but Pointe has always made it a point to tell us during meetings "you can't do that" I believe it is Eric, the guy with the split magnifying glasses that puts them on and off every time is he requested to do something he does not care to do. Nervous habit, it shows when he does not want to do something.
Well the awning, first you get a letter from Pointe that your awning has a tear in it and must be taken care of, next City Code Enforcement shows up and leaves you a violation notice. Ok, a rip; call 3 companies only one will respond with a quote. The others must know its hands off in our community. After 20 years I have replaced these stupid old fashion awning two times, both had to be with the same company. No other company would provide a quote. Can we say kick back!
2 - Rules about Commercial Vehicles parking within the community that is not enforced. We look like a warehouse zone. I know people have to work and have a company vehicle - but there is a warehouse complex right next door that is empty in the evening, they could park there. I drove around on a Sunday and photographed all the commercial vehicles because it is just out of control. One electric company had 5 vans parked within the complex. Then the others, there must have been at least 20 commercial vehicles that Sunday. I know I sound like a nut case, but enough is enough. If you are going to enforce the rules, then enforce all the rules.
3 - You get a letter from Pointe stating you have weeds growing through your fence, a letter. OK take care of the weeds. But nothing is done about the Commercial Vehicles. Next you get a letter from Pointe that you have a hole in you screen porch, mind you we have shadow box fencing around our porches. No one can see that hole in the screen; it is from rats that we have complained about repeatedly at meetings. Nothing done about the rats and to see that hole in my screen you would have to be inside my home or as I have seen Mr. Johnson do, climb up the shadow box fence and photograph the hole in the screen or what ever he is after that week. I have watched this man do this to many homes.
Only one screen company will quote you on repairs, I have been left their business card in my door. 2 holes the size of a small rat, that cannot be seen from outside, I repaired them myself. Put a screen over the holes. But wait, before I could get it done guess who shows up again, City Code Enforcement, again can we say racket!
4 - Then there is the towing company, only one towing company services our community - wonder why that is? If your car will not start and you call a towing company, that towing company will tell you - you have to call a certain company for towing in our community. Racket?
This company Pointe Management Group must be investigated! They are doing this in many communities and all the while collecting fees from each homeowner.
Oh another goof by Pointe Management this year, then sent out our next payment booklets and budget papers, the rate was not going up for once! It has been raised the last 2 years running. But guess what happened NEXT, they mailed out another payment booklet and new budget saying they had made a mistake! Raising the rates, once again by $5.00 a month.
Please this company must be investigated - I would like to know how many of the homes in our complex they now own. Wonder how you can find out that one, not with Eric's tricks I am rather sure it is well hidden.
I could go on with many more problems, but this is just crazy that this company keeps getting away with this in so many South Florida communities. read more
