I tried to locate it by the pictures that were on here, but they were wrong. After a long search that spanned about 2 days, I was able to find it. I will help you out, if you want to find it. It is located right across the street from 1083 Sunset Cliff Blvd. You can't miss it. Me and my assistant were able to find it in the dark. It is the one covered in bird crap. You cannot mistake it. There is a lot of places to park and get a good look. I would suggest getting there well before sunset because the parking fills up with all the sunset gazers. The rock had quite a few birds on it and is known as a surf break that produces 3 different waves. I do not know what attracts the birds to that specific rock. Some tried to explain it to me, but it was way over my head. I know that it is not much, but it is the little things that matter. It is not a long stop, but definitely worth a visit. A visit here should probably be paired with a visit to Sunset Cliff Park and a sunset viewing. I am really glad that I was able to make it here.

All I am saying is, if your family hops in SUV to drive all the way across town, just make sure you understand it is ONE house, (1), singular..not plural. PERIOD. Just ONE house that does lights. Now, that 1 house is an incredible sight to see, as you can tell from the photos and videos posted online and on yelp. They support a wonderful cause, we donated in the cute donation box set up in the front - the music is wonderful, the lighting goes perfectly - it is a synchronized light show - I mean, they did it right.... I just wanted to clarify for anyone that turns right on BELARDO and thinks...why are none of these houses lit up, why is it so dark, why does no one have lights...well...ya gotta keep on driving until ya get to the one house. Perhaps change the name to BELARDO HOME or HOME ON BELARDO or Belardo light show. That's all, carry on. xoxo

Given the right conditions, you can see a distinct green spot above the sun's upper limb, that usually only lasts for no longer than two seconds. It is even more rare, the green flash can resemble a green ray shooting up from the sunset or sunrise point. This sculpture is the work of Malcolm Jones and is dedicated to that phenomenon, but it in no way aids you of viewing. You will find it on the Mission Beach boardwalk. The piece is made of a solid cast acrylic archway that is supported by two concrete pillars. There is also a bronze plaque describing the green flash phenomenon located on the sculpture and another title plaque. It was made in 2002 and is in fair shape, especially considering its age. Some has put stickers on it and the plaques are show signs of corrosion. It is unique and I actually learned something new in the process. It definitely sticks out. I have come to the terms that I will probably not ever see a green flash. It takes masterful planning, precise timing, and patience. I have 2 of the 3 (you can figure out which one I am missing). Parking here is simple. There is a free parking lot right by it. You can park, get out and talk a closer look. Well, as with most sculptures that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. The beach, a park, and an amusement park are in walking distance if you are looking for ideas.

This time in 2025, I avoided food poisoning and did not go back to the restaurant that made me deathly ill in 2018. It is still open and still serves gelato. My impression this time was much more favorable. There are so many restaurants to choose from, it is hard to imagine how we made our choices last time. It's a pizza lover's dream. I think you could eat pizza at a different restaurant every day for half a year. There are cute little shops and food stores that sell Italian foods and pasta. The Little Italy is quite large, I think larger than the one in NYC, so you can spend a lot of time walking, eating and drinking, and people watching.

We didn't have a car, so parking wasn't a problem, and public transportation was close by. It was also easy to call for a Lyft. I also appreciated how close it was to the airport. I'd absolutely stay in Little Italy again in the future if the price permits!

Since it was just a quick three-stop ride away, we hopped on the red trolley & headed out for the day. Our first stop was the visitor station where we grabbed a map & decided to wander without much of a plan, which ended up being the perfect way to experience Old Town. There' is such a unique blend of history, culture & energy here that makes you want to slow down & explore every corner. One of the most meaningful parts of the visit was learning about the Kumeyaay Nation people & their history in the region. I appreciated that Old Town offers more than shopping & restaurants. We also stopped by the blacksmith shop & chatted with the head blacksmith, who was incredibly passionate & completely into his craft. Those kinds of encounters always make a place feel more memorable, talking with someone who genuinely loves what they do & sharing their knowledge with visitors. From there we explored the historic Cosmopolitan Hotel & Johnson House, wandered around the square, browsed the shops & enjoyed some of the live entertainment happening throughout the area. We eventually made our way to The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, which provided a peaceful moment to pause & reflect on everything we had seen & experienced during the day. Then, because this is San Diego after all, we popped into one of the Mexican restaurants for margaritas & chips. The salsa was seriously hot (exactly the way my husband likes it!) & was a perfect little break. Our wandering finally led us to Old Town Saloon for some day drinking & vintage bar vibes, which ended up being a fantastic way to cap off the afternoon. Old Town surprised me in the best possible way. It is historical, entertaining, walkable & full of personality. Whether you are interested in history, culture, shopping, food or just spending a fun day exploring, we highly recommend making time for Old Town when visiting San Diego.

Indulged in lobster roll from Lobster West which was so delicious & had a feature favorite (coconut/chocolate) ice cream from MooTime Creamery! On most of my San Diego visits, I always make a trip to the beach. This one makes a memorial impression. It's so sophisticated, peaceful and pleasant!
