Hard Pass. Dr Wallace was awesome. Dr Brar is horrible. He has given me 3 fillings and oddly immediately after each tooth had severe pain and were cracked. They weren't cracked prior him working on them. He yelled at me when I couldn't breath telling me I could. I spit up a mouthful of phlem like a volcano just to force a breath out of my lungs. His assistant is rough and yelled too. The assistant slams her tools against your teeth. They stopped mid procedure to try and get me to pay more than what it would have been after insurance payment. Oh don't get me started on the unprofessionally inappropriate inside jokes he and his assistant do the whole time your getting worked on. My 10 yr old went in to get her teeth pulled, shes was already scared and he wouldn't give her gas to calm her down and just pulled the teeth. she cried the whole way home. STAY AWAY!!! This is all I have to say. I have been going to Point Family Dentistry for a number of years. Seriously like over 10. I had Dr. Theis ( He was really great, but he retired a long time ago now ) Then I got moved to another dentist, - I can't remember his name - and got moved to Dr. Brar. Who again, seemed nice. I had a cleaning done about 6 months ago. I was informed I had 1 cavity. it was going to cost 200 dollars after my insurance to get it filled. I never had it filled, and never felt any pain, either. I know that you are not supposed to wait until you can feel pain, but I just brushed it off. Anyways, fast forward to last week, I had my regular 6 month cleaning and X-rays were due. After my cleaning, Dr. Brar came in, and said something to the fact of "Wow - you have 4 cavities now!" I dropped my jaw!! I said, "What?! I have 4 now?! I have been brushing, flossing, and using Act mouth wash religiously, how do I have four?!" I could not believe it. I made an appointment the next week to get them taken care of - after my insurance, it would have cost me $710. I said to myself, this is ridiculous if I don't get another opinion. I still could not feel any pain in any tooth, even the one that they said they originally saw 6 months ago. I found another dentist nearby my house - I am not going to say which because it would seem like I am writing this review for them, which I am not. I am totally being 100% honest. I called this new dentist, and they asked me if they could have the X-rays sent over from Point Family, so I signed the permission paper for Point Family to send the xrays over. The new dentist called me the next day, and said that there are some discrepancies of what Family Point is saying and what they see. They want me to come in. I went in and they wanted to do their own X-rays because the ones from Family Point dentistry - they said, "Weren't that good." And they said that they would do the X-rays free of charge. This is where it gets good folks: They were scratching their heads trying to figure out what Point Family was talking about! They had the paper work from them, telling them what teeth needed fillings, and again, they said, "Ummm... you have no cavites. None at all. You even have 2 virgin teeth that have no fillings that Point wanted to give me cavities in, and no work was needed!" So, I had NO CATVITIES and Point Family said that I had 4!!! This is a SCAM! My family moved to Point recently and I've had great experiences with the clinic. Dr. Brar gives his patients comfort and goes the extra mile. I had a mini emergency recently and he went above and beyond to make sure I was cared for at Point as well as communicating with my Endodontist to make sure I had the best plan. Someone always answers the office line and schedules with quick availability. It has been a great change from where we came from where any appointment change was a 4-5 month wait. Okay, Okay I hate to admit it but my Grandma was right. Dr.Theis is awesome! As this is a dentist office, I must say that they do a very good job cleaning your teeth. Your teeth may be sore for a little while after leaving but that is due to how clean they are getting your teeth. The receptionist here was very nice and helpful. I needed to make a follow-up appointment to be fitted for a night guard and she worked with me to find a date that I would be back in town from school to be fitted. She also was very good about dealing with all of my insurance issues. Patience is definitely one of her strong-suits! The hygienist that made to mold for my night guard was very nice. She knew that having a tray full of putty shoved into your mouth was not the most pleasant thing to have done and worked with me to get it so that it only had to be done once. When I returned to pick up my night guard, the receptionist was again very nice. She made sure that I had everything that I needed and that I understood how to clean my night guard. Very rough. Had to go to a different dentist to get implants to fix the work this hack job did. Dr B is rude and rough and doesn't do very good work. He has an assistant that's equally as bad. They treat u like your an idiot and they are gods. They chit chat and giggle about inside stuff the whole time. I can't compare this place to anywhere else because I haven't had a dental experience as bad as this place. Not sure why I kept going back after my first time with Dr B. I required a filling at Point Dentistry in 2020. It was a terrible experience and resulted in my requiring a crown on that tooth. Since then I have had continued pain that was never investigated despite my mentioning it at subsequent visits. I recently switched dentists and my new dentist discovered the cause right away. The crown placed at Point did not fit and I had developed gum infections and continued decay under the crown. I almost lost the tooth entirely. All the work needed to be redone. I contacted Point Dentistry as my insurance would not pay for a new crown but Point refused to reimburse me for their terrible work. They insisted I needed to come back and allow the same dentist I had a terrible experience with to continue to work on me. I have spoken with several other dentists and they all stated I have a right to see whoever I want and it is standard practice to refund the money if it is proven that the work is faulty. Point Family Dentistry is no longer an honest, family practice. It is run by a corporation and they don't care about whether or not their patients are happy or if their work is even decent, they care about the bottom line. I unfortunately was forced to pay a large sum of money out of pocket to fix my tooth because I refuse to return to Point Family Dentistry. Get ready to be a number instead of a name! Point boasts extremely poor customer service and patient care regardless of how long you've been going there. This used to be a practice that remembered me personally and seemed to genuinely care about me when I started going there about five years ago. Since the dentist turnover began it now requires multiple emails and phone calls to accomplish anything and, in my personal experience, the staff even goes so far as to make fun of you openly amongst themselves when you disagree with the way they do something. How professional! My most recent experience with their temporary dental tech was utterly humiliating and I walked out of this place in tears. I can't recommend this practice to anyone after my recent experiences with them. As a paying customer, think twice about coming here - there are plenty of other options for dental care that won't treat you this way. read more

I was horrified at the treatment plan Point presented to us. Although it did involve deferred maintenance, and we do not have dental insurance, the proposal was for $10,000. There is VERY little (if any) oversight of dental fees and upon seeking a second opinion we were able to secure the very same treatment and with 100% satisfaction from another Bloomington dentist at $5,000. Why the difference? I suppose many people faced with our decision don't think (or know) that they can seek a second opinion. Point Dental seems to "charge what the market will bear". The cost of a crown was much greater and other of their fees followed suit. While their personnel are courteous and their surroundings pleasant I felt Point was terribly overpriced and would advise anyone without insurance and with significant work to be done either avoid Point or at the very least seek a second opinion. NOTE: If diagnostic work has been done be sure to request that your x-rays and any other tests/analyses be given to you at the end of the procedures along with a copy of the treatment plan. Also be aware that there is a great deal of controversy about the kinds of companies that are recommended if you need financing. They charge HUGE fees just in case you forget to make a single payment but by the dentis is "whole" and there is little or no recourse through the finance companies. They have a lot more lawyers that work for them than I do. The dentist that performed our work was more than happy to accept a six-month authorization to charge my Visa Card for his services. We saved $5,000 and that's "real money" to this working person ! read more
