I was exploring the Italian countryside on a rented Vespa one Sunday afternoon. It got late & I was getting hungry fast. Almost like a godsend, Podere Giulio just popped up out of nowhere. Like nomads in the desert coming upon an oasis of Italian cuisine, we were welcomed in and immediately seated. Being in southern Tuscany, I wanted something authentically Tuscan. I ordered the full antipasto board with meats, cheeses, & verdure. Lots of warm liver spreads here. The salmi, bruschette, and cheeses were excellent. BTW, wine & beer are fairly popular inexpensive with extensive choices. Secondi; the best gnocchi I ever had and stronghetti del Podere (fettuccine with mixed vegetables.) Sooooooo f#%ing good. Podere Giulio is a major reason I'm returning to Italy; soon! Great food, awesome service, and a fantastic, comfortable setting. It doesn't get much better than this. Podere Giulio must be experienced! read more
