Always plenty of parking, really helpful tellers, and I usually don't even have to wait. The security mechanisms on the doors threw me off the first time, but you learn to work with them.

We drove over there from Amelie's Cafe, which was roughly eight minutes away. It's a cute branch when you walk in. There is a lot of wood, so the acoustics are fantastic. My friend asked whether there was an ATM in the branch. The only one was at the drive-thru. The teller who spoke to her was pleasant and helpful. There are three drive-thru bays. Two require speaking to a person. The last one is the ATM. My friend lined up with the rest of the cars. I pakred off to the side. I find it dangerous for folks who can't drive to use the lone ATM with other vehicles. I hope that folks drive cautiously and don't slam into people standing there. My friend got her money safely. I can't begin to tell you how elated we were to learn that Chase was available to us in Charlotte. Apparently, Chase seems to be growing/expanding rather rapidly within the Charlotte area. Staff at this Park Row location are incredible courteous, patient, energetic and polite. Everyone has a great attitude! Bankers are truly on top of things and we have never felt pressured into doing things with our money that we don't feel comfortable with. This is truly a beautiful and safe location. I really appreciated the holiday display of the Menorah - made me feel so welcomed. The Bank's Vestibule contains the "Smart ATM's" - which dispense various denominations of US Cash; this can be very helpful; - Unfortunately - for obvious safety reasons - the Vestibule is only open during normal banking hours. I guess they want to avoid homeless and "Undesirables" sleeping inside the vestibule. No worries, there is a well-lighted drive up ATM where you can conduct virtually all your banking. Again - I'm very impressed with the friendly folks that are working at this location. The Park Row location is the closest Chase to our home (City Park).

Friendly, knowledgeable staff who take care things instead of directing you to a website or toll free #. Even the online tech support is in NC. They also have a beautiful lobby that isn't slammed packed and a drive through. If you like 21st century technology but prefer 20th century style customer service from your bank, give Uwharrie a try.

Well, you know that warm and fuzzy feeling you get at those branches? It doesn't appear in Locust. The lobby in Locust is closed and the drive thru is your only option. I was visiting my dad and needed to stop in this location for the first time. All I needed was a few straps of ones. The teller didn't really want me to have them. I had to prove that I have an account there, no problem. Then he wanted to know if I was going to use my bills at a business. I told him that it for my personal use. He had a douchey attitude. He brought a woman to the window to tell me that she wanted to save the bills to give out to businesses. I told her to just give me money back and I would roll along. She then gave me a few ones and the rest of my money back. I do have a business account with Uwharrie. I also have my checking account there. I have my home mortgage with them. Both of my children have accounts there. I know the other branches have better customer service. I will avoid this branch in the future.

WARNING!! First Citizens Bank website is NOT secure! I tried to log in to my account on my…read morelaptop. The site asked for User ID and Password. I entered this and then it asked for my phone number. I entered my phone number and a message popped up saying "we are calling you. Answer your phone." I was getting a call from Glendora, California. I answered and a man with a strong accent said he was calling from bank security about suspicious activity in my account. I hung up and called my closest branch and told them what happened. They told me to bring my laptop to the branch to show them my log in screen. I carry my laptop to the branch but it showed no internet connection. They said they don't have WI Fi! Why did they have me bring my laptop in? They then said I need to take the laptop to Best Buy to clean it. They locked me out of my account. I drove to Best Buy and the young woman said that it would be $250 to clean my two week old laptop but after hearing what happened, she said this is totally the fault of the bank for not keeping their log in screen secure. I called the branch and was told they would call me back. No call. The customer service number tells me they cannot let me access my account until I have my laptop cleaned. THEN, my phone rings and it is Glendora again. I told the man that my branch is working on the problem. He became very hostile and said "Your branch can do nothing! We are Headquarters! We control your account!" I hung up. So, I cannot access my account because First Citizens cannot keep their login screen secure. I am NOT paying $250 to get my laptop repaired due to First Citizens incompetence!

Being from the North, I hadn't heard a lot about First Citizens but decided to give it a whirl since it was convenient to my apartment. I am so happy I decided to make the switch. The branch managers and tellers are so friendly. In addition to the daily good service, I really put them to the test when my purse was stolen and my checks AND debit card were taken. I had several fraudulent charges and I was in quite a panic. The bank immediately replaced the fund, gave me a new checking account and even called days later to make sure my case was handled to my satisfaction. They provided top notch service during a very stressful time. For a local banking experience, I give it A+. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because: a) I'm stingy with my 5 star ratings b) They do not have locations outside of the South. I often go to NY and cannot deposit funds. c) They are not as up to date with technology such as BofA who has phone apps where you can take pictures of checks for deposits. I recommend this bank, and this particular branch :)

As someone who can barely count and never balances my check book, I can tell you that having a good…read morerelationship with my bank is a very important piece in my life :-) I've been with First Citizens since 2006 and I've never had a better banking relationship than I found with First Citizens. The tellers and personal bankers are always so kind, so respectful and so helpful. One of my favorite aspects of First Citizens is that they don't spend their money on technology inside their banks. You won't find any big screen tv's streaming their own commercials in foreign languages, you won't find any atm machines inside their lobbies making loud irritating beeping noises as you try to handle your banking and they don't have long lines because they staff their branches with enough humans to actually get your banking needs met in a timely manner. First Citizens also still offers multiple drive through lanes instead of drive up atm machines. I don't always feel well; sometimes I really don't want to get out of the car and walk inside, so having multiple drive through lanes open really makes a huge difference for me. I also never hear terrible things about First Citizens in the news or in my local newspaper. First Citizens doesn't try to sponsor everything under the sun either (like the big banks do), they choose to focus solely on banking which is exactly what I want from my bank. Whilst the local staff are very nice, and quite professional, if you run into problems in using the VISA card, they will need to be handled by the North Carolina HQ. They are incredibly incompetent. I even contacted the CEO who is also a member of the family that owns the bank. He did not even show me the courtesy of an email response. Instead he simply denied the dispute with Google, without providing a reason. I would give this bank a wide berth. Even if a bank is family owned, the CEO should not be a member of said family. #FirstCitizensBank
