I was at this branch today to close my savings account I have to say that the front line employees at this location are very courteous and efficient and although the lines can be long on some days, they move very quickly. Most of the bankers are also very helpful and they speak Polish and Spanish.
However, I have experienced ongoing problems with PNC. Many PNC employees, give out misinformation about products and fees and are unfamiliar with features such as bill pay or Pop Money. They also make mistakes with account maintenance...changing account types, linking accounts, adding cosigners, etc.
Last year a call center employee accidentally changed my grandfathered account to a Performance product without my permission. The manager at this branch was not very helpful, and actually, pretty unkind. He said that there was nothing that he could do and made no attempt to contact anyone higher up. And when I told him that I was considering closing my accounts, he told me to come in and close them instead trying to keep me as a customer.
My problem was resolved thanks to the branch manager 2100 W. Chicago Ave. But this week, a PNC call center employee (Justin W.) gave me misinformation about the reimbursement of ATM fees. And when I called him on it he told me that "I was just confusing myself by talking so much". That was the last straw for me with PNC.
I closed my PNC savings account and took my money to Liberty Bank of Fullerton and Milwaukee. The PNC employee at this branch was very helpful and when he asked me for my reasons, I told him about the manager as well as my ongoing problems He apologized in a very sincere manner. read more
