If I could give this a zero or a negative number, I would!…read moreMy favorite Doctor, Dr Motley was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! But I understand that at the time, it was a teaching facility, so Doctors moved on. I don't know how Penn is going to treat it. The last Doctor I saw was soooooo pompous and arrogant & spoke to me like I was a piece of trash, an inconvenience and an interruption to his day. I have since then refused to go back and have not had Psychiatric medication, that I have been on for 25 years or more! He made me feel, unimportant & insignificant , as though I was not worth his time. He refused to prescribe me non-narcotic psych meds because the psychiatrist I had seen for seven or eight years retired . If anyone has tried to find a psychiatrist, not a therapist, you KNOW there aren't any in Delco! It would be one thing if I was in there expecting 120 Xanax in a month! Again, they were non-narcotic . I don't take kindly to some 20 something year-old treating a 60-year-old woman, with a college degree , who had a successful and prosperous career at a fortune 500, company, like a nothing! NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED THAT WAY!!!!!!! What happened to the Hippocratic oath, empathy and bedside manner? The Center For Family Health lost that years ago! I can't even believe my husband still goes to that crap house! I just have gone without meds for years & I struggle a lot of days. But I'd rather struggle for the rest of my life than ever go back there!!!!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

I don't care if I see a different doctor each time I am there. I have found each resident to be…read morevery thorough and helpful and very willing to listen. I really like this practice.

This is a tough review to write, because it's the first experience we've had with a Partial…read moreHospitalization Program (PHP). For the uninitiated, there are multiple 'levels of care' within behavioral health treatment, from the most restrictive - Inpatient Hospitalization - to the least restrictive - routine outpatient therapy. In between you have: PHP - where you attend programming similar to Inpatient, but you return home in the evenings rather than being at the hospital 24/7. Residential Treatment (RTC) - where you go to a structured setting that supports therapeutic care as well as life skills/daily living. Intensive Outpatient (IOP), where you go to therapy 3-4 hours a day, 2-3 days a week. It's not required that you 'go through' all the different levels of care, or that you go to each of them. You can, say, discharge from Inpatient to routine outpatient, or you can step up from routine outpatient to IOP or RTC, depending on your situation. In our most recent experience, NMT admitted inpatient, stepping down to PHP, and he was sent to Horsham Clinic's Broomall, PA center. This center ONLY offers PHP services. We were not impressed. Now, NMT is not a fan of hospitalization (see my other reviews) but he does give credit where credit's due, and he felt both hospitals helped him. Not so much for Horsham. His general feeling is that first, group therapy only, no individual work. The groups are huge, 20 or so teenagers, which makes it hard to focus. Third, the counselors didn't always seem to have good control of the group, which is understandable given how many participants they had. I take it with a grain of salt, however given his past experience with honest feedback even of things he doesn't like, it's a small grain. I can only comment on what I saw. In short, I felt like my child was just another body to them. They never seemed to have a good sense of who he was and what his challenges were. Intake was great, very attentive listening. That's the best. His assigned SW didn't seem to have a sense of who he was or how he was progressing or even when they thought he should discharge - they asked us what we thought. Also, they called one day to leave an important message for me. I called back, found the entire voice mail 'unit' full so I couldn't even leave a message on another line. I called the next morning and left a message...which was never returned. Lastly, the psychiatrist did not seem to be particularly interested or understanding of him, they were writing and confirming meds only. "He seems really anxious" was met with nothing, except confirming his current dosage. It felt like he was just someone they had to move through a system. I'm sad, because I think that this could be a really great step for someone in his situation. I'm hoping first, that he never needs it, however second, if he does, that there's another program that will care about him more, have smaller groups, some individual time, and a voice mail box that doesn't fill up for every single phone in the clinic. I hope there's better out there, I really do.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star. If this is the only place you can send your child your better off…read moretaking your chances keeping them home. The staff is rude, you can not participate in your child's care, no progress updates at all, no family participation, your child is told to put their head on the desk the first 20 minutes of the day until staff gets organized. There is no individual therapy the kids are all bunched together in large groups with no structure among the staff and counselor calling the kids names and not understanding at all. The state needs to step in and shut this place down or impose heavy fines until they get themselves together.
