I have used this station a few times. It's small but it serves its purpose quite well. The shop is fairly sleepy as it is not overly busy with a handful of trains to and from Dublin each day. The outside appearance is fine while the interior is decently kept. The waiting area is small but adequate and the same could be said for the train platforms. There is a small shop where one can buy a few food, drink and reading items. The normal washroom and phone facilities are available. The staff for Irish Rail are efficient enough and it is easy to buy tickets (though you can often get better pricing buying in advance on-line). The location for the station across the river from the main part of the town is actually reasonably convenient. Waterford proper is accessible on foot unless you are loaded down with a bunch of luggage. I usually stay at the Granville which is only a six- or eight-minute walk across the bridge on the Quay. read more
