I met with the Funeral Home to pre-plan arrangements for my Mom who was nearing end of life. The staff, particularly Libby, was so knowledgeable, very kind, and almost like family. The day we had to make the arrangements for the actual funeral, Libby went thru all the details. She was helpful and compassionate during a very difficult time. We went over details, and talked a lot about my Mom's life. The day of the funeral we were blown away by the attention and detail the staff took to make this a beautiful, special day to celebrate my Mom's life. Little details that were so meaningful. My Mom looked beautiful and the staff was so attentive and again so sincere and gracious. If you are looking for a funeral home that will exceed you expectations, this is where you should go. They are amazing!!!

The staff was very accomidating and compassionate, and they personalized her service to fit a life story of her. She was a kindergarten teacher for 20 years, and they had set up a childrens desk with kids books, crayons, etc, as well as a beautiful poster sized photo of my mom from my wedding, the guestbook pages were a photo of her dancing when she was sixteen, and the plaque was beautiful- a collage of her young and at sixty. They took the time for personalized programs of her life story, and were very accomidating to our family. They were able to take all the pain and sickness she had been enduring over the last five years, and make her look beautiful, young and healthy again. The website is also beautiful, offering condolences, information about the service, obituary, as well as a photo gallery and an area to share a story. It's so hard to not have her here, and the grief is horrendous, but at least Martin Funeral Home, and its staff, gave her the beautiful ceremony that such a lovely and wonderful lady deserved.

When my in-laws moved out to Grand Blanc a few years ago, they decided to get their death affairs in order as not to burden the family and make their wishes known. They picked a beautiful cemetery and Sharp as their funeral home. Unfortunately, my father in law passed away a couple of weeks ago. Thank goodness this is where they chose to handle everything because the process was SO EASY from the moment he passed. Anything that has came up, Stephanie was on it immediately. People needed death certificates, letters from the funeral home with service times for work, changes to the website Memorial, a last minute decision to pause the cremation and say a final goodbye - and those were handled in minutes through email or calls to Stephanie. I cannot believe how much of everything was handled by her - the arrangements for his cremation, the obituary in local papers, The website memorial, the arrangements for the services at the church AND the interment at the cemetery and it's coordination, the cremation, the death certificates... you name it, they literally handled everything except things the family chose like photos and music and the luncheon after. The combination of using Kindred Hospice, The Caregiver Professionals and Sharp Funeral Homes should be part of anyone's death plan if they live in Genesee county. I can't thank Stephanie enough for her hand in making such a somber time so much less chaotic.

Who wants to write about a funeral home? Morbid, I know, but the funeral home business is a…read morelucrative, and, unfortunately, a permanent industry because we all use them eventually and we've all been to at least a few memorial services in our lifetimes. Sadly, my family (and friends) have had way more than their fair share of those lately, which begins my review of this particular establishment. Recently, along with a rash of other funerals lately that I've had the unpleasant business of attending, I had an opportunity to see this specific Sharp Funeral Home during my uncle's visitation and funeral service. First things first- our family is huge, as in like the famed Kennedy clan of American politics, but even bigger. Sharp was able to accommodate all of us and made the whole family feel at home and not like we were in an uncomfortable, cold, sterile environment. There was no faux type sympathy or over the top platitudes that come off more cold and unsympathetic than if the management hadn't bothered to say anything at all. Nope, they were just polite, friendly and willing to help out whenever they were needed. It was really refreshing to see employees that really seemed to care and "got it." The layout of the building looks like it's an old mansion that sprawls from one end to other redesigned as a funeral home, but it really isn't. It has a nice old world charm about it with an incredibly nice layout that definitely flows well and allows for a decent mixture of conversation, standing, talking, walking, and relaxing/grabbing a quick bite to eat in their "common areas." The decor and ambiance were warm and relaxing and helped take our minds off the general sadness of the evening. Beyond that, the A/V design and projection flat screen TV equipped for my uncle's memorial were both top notch and it allowed for a lovely memorial tribute via photos and a video montage. It was well-done and we truly appreciated it. The staff seemed to go out of their way to make it a touching tribute and to make the entire experience as good as it can be given the situation. Every inch of the place seemed spotless and the staff were so helpful that we all commented on how nice it was. It was an appropriate send-off for a man as brilliant and kind as my uncle was. I thought if he'd been able to see it, he would have approved wholeheartedly.
