I have been visiting this practice for almost 1 year. I agree wholeheartedly with David R's…read moreevaluation... Dr. Johnson is a great doctor but the way the practice is run is HORRIBLE. You're shuffled around like cattle from one window to another. Nobody explains anything to you. The staff is often short with you or downright rude. Anytime I've gone for anything other than my usual allergy shots, I've asked to see Dr. Johnson because I have not had a good consultation with anyone else. Last week I was turned away for my appointment due to being a few minutes late. This normally wouldn't have been an issue... the office knows I have a difficult commute and assured me over and over that I could show up anytime before 7:30 pm (a whole hour after my scheduled appointment) and they would take me. But they changed their hours without notifying their patients, so I made the long commute there only to be turned away. Frustrating, but there's more to me writing this review today. I've been phoning and asking for a call back from Dr. Johnson to discuss continuing my care elsewhere. While I've never been too happy with the service I've received from his staff, I do trust Dr. Johnson's opinion and would like a referral from him for another allergist. I initially received a call back from the office manager who tried to come up with ways to keep me, but unfortunately they aren't viable for me. I'm unable to take much time off of work and trying to get there at the end of the day has always been stressful, even when the grace period was allowed. I've not heard from him after calling several times and leaving messages with the receptionist, who says she forwards them onto the office manager, so I called to have a complaint about the office manager escalated to Dr. Johnson and the receptionist refused to pass the message along to him! Maybe they're all afraid to tell him he's losing a patient, or maybe they all stop giving a sh*t if they know you're leaving, but either way, I'm now way overdue for my usual shots and if too much times passes, I'll have to start this whole process over again to the tune of a few thousand dollars out of pocket. If I can't get a phone call back, I can't imagine how long it will take to have my records transferred! Now I wish I'd followed my gut and transferred offices a long time ago. It's not typical of me to put up with lousy service, being in customer service myself. If you don't mind the "turn and burn" mentality, then this is the place for you, otherwise, I'd reconsider your options.

After a couple of months working with Dr. Medwar I can say that my health has taken complete 180…read moreturn for the better. I went from being in pain every morning when I wake up, to actually being okay with doing yoga again! She worked on my plantar fasciitis, and is advising me on good orthotics for my lifestyle. I haven't mentioned my NRT yet, which is a fantastic addition to my wellness journey. I'm amazed when we do the NRT visits and how well my body is responding to the supplements we are working with. I'm a fan of Dr. Medwar and here staff, their commitment to assisting me in all of my wellness needs is unlike any other practitioner's office I've been to. I was so thankful to find someone local that practices the holistic approach I have been searching for, for quite some time.

The "predator" review is spot on. I took a chance on this doctor in desperation to address extreme…read moreanxiety. I knew it was an "off-the-board" kind of treatment, but decided to give it a try. My exasperation with the "official" medical establishment is one factor that led me here. TL;DR: turns out it's basically homeopathy, meaning lame, unconvincing sleight (and I mean VERY sleight) of hand combined with meaningless psychobabble. Along with two assistants, she went through a procedure that is supposed to find all the bad stuff your body has problems with: She has you hold your arm up and resist her pushing on it, while putting pressure on some part of the body or resting a bottle of some substance on your stomach. When something is "good," you "successfully" resist her pushing. When it's "bad", she waggles your arm back and forth too quickly for you to adjust and push back and says "that organ is weak." It's kind of like you're a human Ouija board, LOL. She kept asking if I understood if I "got it" how one thing was strong and one was weak based on this, and I said, "uh, not really, it just seems like you're changing how periodically you push and pull." She testily said "NO. If you don't get this, we can't continue." (and of course the payment has already cleared the bank) After a few minutes of this, I'm thinking "This is nonsense." I figured I would be polite and wait til they were done and then just never come back. I occasionally asked clarifying questions, and she seemed to think her answers had some kind of logic to them, but nothing she said made any sense. At over an hour in, it was getting difficult to not roll my eyes. She went through the same routine with the bottles of vitamins I brought with me. Presses bottle to my chest, waggles my arm. "Bad." Another bottle. Waggle. "Bad bad." She read the ingredients of my Vitamin C & Zinc bottle, telling me how bad it is, and then suggested I "give this to someone you hate." :o That's what you call "professional." Then she pulled out some "gene chart" that any layperson isn't going to know up from down, throws out some impressive terminology, and said we need to test my genes. It will take from 15m to an hour. "ANOTHER HOUR?" I said. "Well, only if your genes have problems." I am not a rude person, and do not like confrontation, but at that point I abruptly sat up and said "I need to go." I got up and went to put my shoes on and collect my belongings from the table near the door. "But, we're not--" I told her this was absolute BULLSHIT and walked out. The three of them stood there with mouths agape as if this has NEVER happened before. This is "health care" for the hard of thinking. The old phrase pops to mind: "Be open-minded, but not SO open-minded that your brains fall out." (LOL to the 4-star reviewer who seems to think they are being overly critical)

Twice now (2008 & 2015) have I received the best type of environmental allergy test ever. For a test that could take up to two hours, it is certainly worth having done to recognize what your body has allergies to. There is also a food allergy test which I will get done at my next visit. The suggested result of the test is for a two-year run of either weekly or bi-weekly allergy injections. For any allergy test, plan to be at the practice for half a day. When you arrive, you likely will meet the provider first, then off to the test that could take a couple hours. After it, you wait and may see the provider again. You want to give enough time to ensure you have no after effects from the allergy test. I never had and even if I did, the allergy technicians tell you what to do for it. These ladies are skilled and trained well in this field. When you do arrive the practice, you can park anywhere you find a spot. Then enter the spacious waiting area only to be greeted by the friendly women behind the counter. They check you in, go over your insurance coverages & billing, then check you out with scheduling future appointments in that area. In my experience, the staff have been friendly, informative, and efficient. The lady who checks you in during the day has a very nice approach to your arrival. The woman who checks you out is ALWAYS very friendly, caring, and thoughtful. I have never seen her have a bad day. If she does, she hides it well. These women should be commended with the care they have for the patients, above and beyond. As you appear on a regular basis, they remember you and your name, which is rare to find at a busy practice. Wait times are hard to report because everyone is here for something different. Although, Allergy injections are generally a shorter time but expect to wait 20 mins after to be sure there are no reactions. If Dr Johnson isn't available to meeting you, there are a few Physician Assistants (PA) who have always been nice, knowledgeable, and caring to meet with. Either option, all have a very comfortable demeanor and listen to your issues and then provide a solution. I certainly recommend this practice for an accurate allergy test and treatment for any allergy conditions. Be sure to ask questions all the time and be sure that you are informed of the allergy injections and tests before going through it all.
