Well the gas is more expensive here than other places around but sometimes you gotta get gas. Always a lot of pumps open because it's more expensive, so that's nice for me. Their stations have always been in working order and the nozzles are in good condition. Never tried the car wash as I hand wash at home, or had to go inside for anything. Went in to the shell station on 41st and Capitola road that has a drive through car wash. I paid for the premium wash which was $15.99 The car came out filthy. The brushes never scrubbed anything off, the car was sprayed with soap and then sprayed off. They also included a wax at the end, which could not work as dirt was all over my car. I went in to tell the attendants that something was wrong. They said no, that's the touch-less wash! They did not offer to give me a free re-do or anything! Warning, never choose touch-less, it does. Got reasonably good regular washes here over the past years. I last visited 4 mos. ago and vehicle had dirty water residue. Today I noticed no one in line and lotsa new flashy LEDs. What a tuna I am. I tried the new whiz-bang "touchless" super wash. What a joke. Car was not really dirty to begin with and wasn't much cleaner afterwards. And...lotsa residual dirty water spots. That's it! This is a nice gas station, but not for folks who need anything at night or early morning, I work at night, I purchased a car wash after getting gas, the gas pump advised me to see a clerk for my reciept, mind I get it's 3:30 am , but the door advertises that the business is 24/7 anyways I ring the bell twice, then call, the female employee comes out of her office looking like I just woke her up, stammers to the door, and placed a closed from 2am to 4am sign I try and get her attention as I need my reciept for the 15$ car wash I purchased, then she proceeds to walk away and slam her office door shut again, very rude, very inconsiderate and very inconvenient, I wish no I'll will against this employee, but come on, we need to show a little bit of professionalism. read more

Let me start out by saying I am a disabled. Sitting in my car, I look just fine, but I can barely walk, and it is painful to do so. It is required by law that as long as There are 2 or more employees working, and you have a disabled Packard one is supposed to shop for you in the store, and pump your gas, etc. I have in the past been helped as I needed, and the workers generally have been pretty helpful. Over the last few months, they have had trouble getting/keeping employees. I doubt any have been fully trained, because when I ask for help I usually get an attitude, or denied. Over the last 2 weeks, they have hired an employee that not only is hard to get help from. And he gives abuse throughout. He states that he is disabled also, although I can not see any problem when he walks it moves about. He keeps accusing me a faking to the point I was in tears the last time I went there. Bottom line is there is a sign posted over each pump, and at the door to the store stating the law. If this guy truely has mobility issues, he clearly has the wrong job, and it still gives him no right to through abuse at customers, asking for service. read more

Not surprised on a 100% 1 Star Rating from al yelpers. Ive been a solid customer here for around 10 years, my family and I have spent thousands of dollars here every year. The staff was pleasant at one time, but that was many years ago. As mentioned below, you will often get ignored while some employees babble in spanish. Its rude, this is America, speak the language, have some repsect. Oh, my wifes mexican american, I understand spanish and your employees are not chatting about anything work related, meantime, during the babble they are just ignoring customers. Recently there is a new guy working, big tall guy, longish hair, He can at times be ok, but god forbid you swipe your card, for a purchase, before he tells you, it makes his blood boil, he gets real pissy, then he lectures you about ONLY sliding your card when he tells you! Its 2013 dude, update your machine and stop tripping out over a F'ing card slide before you say it is ok. Get over it, its rude. Is it really that big of deal that you have to get angry over it? Most places you can swipe your card once a item is scanned. I told him this and his little side kick went on a rant about various scanning sytems, I just tuned him out and let him flap his gums. Ok, so fine, your dated machine wont accept a slide till YOU say its ok, but dont get pissy about it, WTF? I am a paying customer, its people like me who ensure you get paid. Your the only employee who gets all pissy about it, just chill, relax, take a breath. I'm sure your a good guy in general, but it blows to be talked too like that over a simple card slide. Perhaps I should remember to wait till you give me the ok to slide the card, but seriously, this is the ONLY machine in santa cruz that I have run into that does this, or maybe employees at other local businesses i support just dont freak out over it because its so minor. I had been going here for the car wash for more than five years. I went again yesterday. My first clue should have been when the guy in front of me had a lot of trouble getting the machine to switch to the red light and start washing. I just thought he was the problem. Nope, it was the car wash. I had a $10 bill and put it in for the $6 car wash. It did not give change and there was no sign anywhere that it was exact change only. Then I drove in. (Keep in mind I've been doing this every month for five years). I drove forward until the light turned red. It did seem to be much further in than before but when I stopped where I usually did the lights stayed green. The machine would not work until I drove further forward. Then it proceeded to wash the back half of my car, to some extent. It didn't really do the trunk area because the machine thought my trunk was three feet further back than it was. When it was "done" I went into the office to tell them that they had a problem. The girl working there was very nasty and told me that there was a sign that no change was given. (Apparently they tape a paper sign up and it later falls down). She did give me my three dollars back. But then she told me there was nothing wrong with the car wash, that I had made a mistake. I attempted to tell her the machine won't work until it has you where it wants you, but she just kept telling me i made a mistake. I will not be returning there and strongly advise you to take your business to the other two car washes in the area that both provide much better service for the same price. read more

Terrible customer service, don't use their car wash! I waited for over half an hour in line to get my car washed, then when I got to the front, I did the same thing I have always done in the past, which was to wait until the previous car wash started and then pay for my own wash. When the person in front of me finished their wash, I entered the car wash but it would not start. The sign said "welcome please insert card or enter code" although I had already paid and received a receipt. When I exited the car wash because it would not start, I went inside the mini-mart to talk to the cashier. He was very unsympathetic and said I would either have to wait in the line again, or get a refund. I asked if there was a way I could get a discount, or some kind of customer service for my trouble since I was really in a hurry, but he said all he could do was upgrade me to the Ultimate Wash at an extra $2 value and I would still have to wait in line again. I asked if this had happened before and he said, "yes, it's been happening a lot. I don't know why, there's a lot that can go wrong." The line is now much longer, and I am missing my appointment! I will not be returning and I would not recommend this car wash to anyone! read more
