NOTE: rooftop ride review…read more Loved it. Rock Cycle has jumped on the cycling for exercise bandwagon and done it well. The studio was out of commission this past week for construction so classes were held on the rooftop of the hotel next door. We had an amazing view of the city, twinkling at night as we rode our asses off. You get a great workout and a lot of encouragement from the profe. It may not be quite as hard as classes in the USA, but it'll release some endorphins and have you huffing and puffing. In town and looking for a good exercise class? This is a good one! You can totally get by without Spanish and the staff speak English if you really need help. It's not cheap (120 pesos a class) but it's a fun way to get your butt moving!

The water fountains are definitely the highlight of this huge park. The greenery is, unfortunately,…read moredivided by the highway that runs above it, and beneath it there's a cultural center. During weekends it seems to be the top choice for a nice day out, tons of joggers, children, dog owners, teenagers, older couples and everything in between decide to spend at least a couple of hours in Chacabuco Park eating candy apples and sweet popcorn... or smoking pot and drinking Fernet con Coca. To each its own! But, as it happens in most public parks, you have to be alert. As soon as the sun goes down, better be aware of your surroundings, specially if you're by yourself. All in all, it's a really nice park, really suitable to spend a nice day out with family or friends (humans and canines alike).

I'm not even sure the structure can support all the weight sitting atop of it. For $150 pesos/day, there must be a better alternative.

Pretty much all of them have greeted me, have asked me if I needed any help on my workout or wanted to try something new. You can always find one to help you out. I did like that about the attention staff puts on customers. The Venue: It has three floors. The first floor is free weights and usually there's group sessions going on. The second floor has a big stretch area, free weights and machines, as well as a spin room. In the top floor you have all the cardio equipment. Most of the equipment is in good condition. Coming from the United States it was a bit of an adjustment looking for kilograms instead of pounds but one gets used it to it quickly. The venue can get extremely busy, so I do recommend going between 2-5pm. Many people take naps around this time so the gym can be enjoyed much more with less people at this time. The membership was approximately $30USD/month (cash only) and I have no complaints about it. You do have to do a physical exam for $5 USD and it is pretty simple. Upshot: This is a pretty good gym to workout to in Palermo. It's ok, decent work out but the personal trainers (not sure if they are affiliated with the club…read moreor not) don't know what they are doing - I saw a couple that were doing downright dangerous stuff with clients. My husband is a renown orthopedic anesthesiologist who works side by side in the OR with world famous orthopedic surgeons treating / fixing people with sports injuries and he confirmed he felt there was an injury waiting to happen at this gym with a couple trainers training people working out with weights. The gym has all the equipment you need, I didn't like the air conditioning - it felt stuffy and hot. It's also 250 pesos / single work out and while cheap by american standards, other gyms in the area charge 100 pesos for much better gym environment so after one time, I passed in favor of them. I say go if you are in the area but prepare to be hot and don't hire a trainer !
