Whatever it was it was awesome. The hotel is a nice clean place. Do not expect high class luxury. It's down to earth. They have this pretty garden to look over when you have breakfast. The room was just nice and clean. We had a view over the ocean, and yes I do LOVE the ocean. The hotel staff did recognize us each and every time we came in, that gave us a comfortable feeling. We where at home for that time being. Hotel bell aire is not far from the beach and all the bars and restaurants. L'estartit has a nice boulevard with a love of fancy bars and restaurants. The only bad thing was that everything closes at 1am?! Well that's the price u pay when u come in September! I loved the hotel I loved the beach, I did love everything about this small peaceful place, somewhere along the coast in Spain.

The food is top tier, everything served was beyond satisfactory. The service and staff are friendly, quick on their feet and service was amazing. Definitely a spot to check out if visiting the town. The queso de Cabra salad was one of my favorites, the best cheese salad around. They have spectacular lobster ravioli great paella. The deserts are mouth watering. And don't forget the sangria!!

When the Parador de Aiguablava came up, he asked me if I minded that this Hotel was a modern building and not a former Castle or Convent. I admitted that this barracks-like alabaster structure was a little boxy. However, when Gayle and I considered the magnificent Costa Brava views, the superb service, and the surrounding beaches and sights, it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, the only compatible Parador experience on this trip were the amazing Mountain views at their facility in Vielha. Gayle would also go as far to say that she would have given up a day in Barcelona to stay here longer. This modern Parador is a superbly located hotel on the Punta D'es Muts and is surrounded by pine trees overlooking the sea. The Parador maximizes its cliff-side perch with large windows everywhere, including the Restaurant/Breakfast Room, Lounge, various sitting rooms, and even the business meeting area. We spent a lot of time on our room balcony just relaxing and taking in the view. There's also an ocean-side Lounge were we did the same over cocktails. The Parador also operates a separate restaurant and beach in a cove below. However, it was October and that was closed for the season. This is also the perfect place to venture out and enjoy the area's beautiful beaches, cliff walks and explore the coves in a gorgeous natural environment.

This hotel was a working farm for several hundred years before being converted to a hotel. The main building is original (with some addition and modifications of course) Guest rooms are a separate building on the grounds and nicely done. Ample closets, comfy beds, modern bathrooms (bidet too) Beautiful lounging areas in the old house - VERY charming and warm. Outdoor pool with seating patios, bar in season. Glassed in heated pool, large jacuzzi, sauna, bathroom and shower as well as a sauna. Huge mature trees all around, grass fields and forest with views of green forested hills. NO traffic noise. Only sound is the breeze in the trees and singing birds. First class restuarant for dinner with breakfast included. The staff is friendly and professional. We hate to leave! 30 min drive to the Dali museum 15 min to the beach and other small towns. Can't stop taking pictures! Reasonable rates (paid more at the Hilton) Cannot say enough.

The pool has full service straight from the great restaurant and complimentary towels and lounge chairs. When one cannot make the great complimentary breakfast the staff will create a nice picknick basket any time of the evening or morning. The rooms are very nice with a/c and a small kitchen. The housekeeping is great and even did our dishes one day after we had forgotten to do it. Now the best part. We enjoy good food and while we also explored many restaurants in the area and neighboring towns, the restaurant 'catamaran' in the hotel actually trumped all of the restaurants we visited (and often drove 30-45min for). Their menu is not very large but their daily three course menu-del-dia can hold its own with some Michelin star level restaurants. It was different every day and all nine options between starter, main and dessert were great. On some days we enjoyed both lunch and dinner from the same menu! Parking was very good too. Enough space in their own covered area so we never had problems finding a space. Did we not like something? Not really...and I realize it makes this review almost too good to be true... Beautiful room and great A/C. The pool and garden area are wonderful and relaxing. Very close to the city center (3 min walk). Felt very luxury. We had a standard room which was incredibly spacious. Aircon is modern allowing various settings such as fan, heat, aircon or dehumidfier. There's a proper coffee machine like a Nespresso/Pod machine in your room the first two Pods are free thereafter 1 euro each a great facility and alternative to the instant coffee, kettle etc you usually find at hotels. Good breakfast buffet served till 11am at the weekends which you can take outside by the pool surrounded by the wonderful mature garden settings. We also ate twice in the evening at the hotel (which I rarely ever do) the set menu of three courses offering a tantalising choice and exceptional value at 20 Euros. Great pool length which is restricted for use from 11am which makes sense as if I had a balcony view I'd hate to be woken early though I am a early morning length swimmer. There's also a Table-Tennis table and Table Football. Staff are simply brilliant and most tri-lingually excellent what I heard what Spanish, Catalan, English and French. Finally it's a great location for the nearby beaches and town of Callel de Palafrugell which is five minutes away. In short, for a six night stay I find it hard to fault this place.
