The folks working on his behalf made numerous mistakes, causing the project to go over time (by multiple weeks) and over budget, to the point we terminated working with them and had to finish the project ourselves (which was more time and more money for us). If Joe had been on site, it may have gone differently, but in the end, it was a very upsetting experience. Looking online, I see only the positive, raving reviews, but the company has been in business for so long that I wonder where the other reviews are...? If your project is unusual at all, shop around.

Needed renovations at the house; e.g. kitchen, basement and spare bathroom…read more After doing research; e.g. reviewing the Better Business Bureau, reading reviews, etc. and getting a few quotes, I decided to go with Joe Costantino of "Do It All Contracting"; a member of the Better Business Bureau since 1997! When I first met with Joe, he was very personable and gave good advice/suggestions! Sometimes, we think we know what we want, but when it gets close to getting done...not so much! Do It All Contracting had reasonable rates/pricing; e.g. another contractor was going to charge $20.00 more per hour for the electrical work. I was very satisfied with the workmanship and the work was completed on budget and schedule!

Another contractor had to be paid to completely rip out the tile floor they laid out and redo everything again. Jessi was quick to quote and take the job; however, we discovered after the fact that they had no idea about putting in sub-floors or how to mix cement and grout. We could literally tap out the tiles after they had finished their job because there was so little gluing the uneven tiles to the flooring. The grout they had put was washing and dusting out for days after the job was supposedly complete. They left the area dirty and messy and tracked mud everywhere. All and all an absolutely horrible job. We tried to reach out to them to come and fix the job, but either they promised and did not show or they had an excuse of some sort, and then they wouldn't even answer our phone calls. Beware if you give them a job.

In the fall of 2010, we embarked on a journey to renovate our condo. We live in a 40-year-old high…read morerise, and the last time a reno had been done was when the previous owners moved in some 35 years prior (well, they had done some work themselves, but nothing professional, or even to code). We ended up going with Diamond Contracting, whom we found through the BBB (A+ rating with no complaints in the past five years - not just no resolved complaints, no complaints. Period.). Though Diamond did not give us the lowest bid, we chose to go with them because we were impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of owner Sheldon Ens. His inspection prior to giving us the estimate was, by far, the most thorough. He checked places and pointed out things that others had missed. And it did not feel as if he were trying to get more money from us. The things he pointed out were necessary. He could not give us an estimate without talking with his sub-contractors, especially the electrician. It was the electrician who made us aware of the limitations of our old building and the changes in code. As I said, Diamond did not give us the lowest bid, nor did they give us the highest bid. They were right in the middle. More importantly, the estimate was accurate! We were only a tiny bit over budget, and everything we spent over the estimate was because of things we had added since our original request. How many contractors come in right on budget? Sheldon was understanding of our desire to save money. He didn't try to talk us into unnecessary upgrades, and even affirmed our decision to avoid certain upgrades, saying that they were not appropriate to the age of the building and we could easily "price ourselves out of the market" by getting too fancy. He did not object to installing IKEA cabinets, and he supported our doing some of the work (i.e. painting) ourselves. Brian, our project supervisor, was fantastic, regularly keeping us updated and answering what were likely silly questions with patience. And his work is amazing and beautiful. He added finishing touches that I wouldn't have thought of but that add so much to the end result. I enjoyed working with the various subcontractors. All but one were responsive and reliable. Finally, our building manager said that he has never worked with a crew as professional as the crew we brought in and that our guys left the common areas in better shape than when they first went through. He asked for several of Sheldon's cards, and I know he has recommended Diamond to other owners in our building. He said it was a joy to work with them. Overall, I highly recommend Sheldon and Diamond Contracting. If you are considering a home renovations, give them a call.

To put it plainly: they are fantastic…read more I had water damage due to a neighbor's unit flooding. My condo hired a reconstruction company that was rather bad. I was sent a painter who didn't know what he was doing and it got so bad he started to yell at me and I had to threaten to have the police come to escort him away. Ghost was a breath of fresh air. Josh, the owner, set up an appointment and was precisely on time. If you have worked with contractors this is unprecedented in and of itself. He assessed the poor paint job another painter had done and said he would have Geovanna come out (on a long weekend at that). She called me the day before to let me know when she would come by. She was very friendly and was aghast at how poor an effort the previous painter made. She said if anything he made it worse by using inferior paint (I offered to give the bad painter the right paint but he refused). She found all the problem areas and spent about 9 hours fixing his mistakes. She used woodfiller properly, sanded until everything was looking perfect, and made the effort not only to do it right but come back the next day to see how one problem area dried. I simply cannot recommend them enough. Edmonton is filled with hacks who say they know what they are doing but Ghost proved to me quality workmanship is out there. Thank you Geo, thank you Josh.

He spends 40% of his time on his phone and the only good subcontractor he has is Geo, his cabinet maker. We got hard wood floors installed and they are lifting up, his master electrician, Nick, installed a new breaker box, filed the permit with the city, but never got the city to cut the power when he installed it and now the city has failed the work he did. Nick is a very messy worker who doesn't clean up after himself. Kevin does very sloppy work which is showing after 2 years, window casings that are starting to come apart, paint on my hardwood floors, our leftover hardwood is being held hostage in his garage. Kevin split a solid wood door installing the hardware, he painted our attic door access closed, completely missed finishing a wall, sanding and painting in my pantry. He almost killed my senior cat with his negligence. We were never reimbursed for extra materials that we purchased. My husband and I are both tall and Kevin installed our shower curtain rod without consulting us and it's too short. We got our fireplace refaced and the subcontractor failed to use the proper adhesive and the stone cracked and we have a major draft that comes in. We wanted a gas line installed for our barbecue and he left the job half done. On a Thursday, he was leaving for the day, he said see you tomorrow, and we never saw him again. We have tried many times to call him and he either doesn't answer his phone, won't return voicemails or blows up at you for calling him at 8:30pm saying it's too late in the evening to call.
