First, I'll admit this review is for work done years ago, and they could be much better now... but…read moreI just uncovered more work they did in my house that has pushed me over the edge and a negative review is warranted, which I almost never give. They were hired as a sub contractor for a remodel I was doing. I ultimately fired them after uncovering incompetent work that Sam was doing himself. I then re-did most of their work while the walls were open, but I didn't catch all of it apparently. Now after years, I keep finding surprises... the latest of which was a ceiling light that they decided to use the ground (bare copper) as a shared neutral and use the hot and neutral both as hot so they could install a switch to control the light and fan separately without fishing another run of romex. I was in the middle of a major remodel, and would have happily had them cut all the drywall to run a new line to the fan... but nope... they took the lazy way out and just did some backwoods electrical crap. Thanks Sam... this is truly fun... I love finding all the things you took lazy short cuts on. I'm glad I fired you when you couldn't figure out how to wire a GFCI in my bathroom because of a shared neutral. I feel really sorry for the average home owner who is trusting that the work is done right, and the poor electricians that follow Sam and have to explain to home owners that they have to fix everything done before. And note, if you think that the county code inspectors will catch these things... 99% of the time they won't.

He came out to assess what needed to be done, and explained the process so we understood why it wasn't going to be cheap and easy. Within a day, he provided a formal quote, which was very specific in scope down to grade of wiring, and was able to e-sign and start. Because the contract / scope of work was very clear we were easily able to upgrade to better wiring easily. (Aside: other company provided me a quote, it detailed what work they weren't responsible for, what they were doing in general but no specific materials. When I communicated with them about changing or expanding the scope, it was only with difficulty and no explanation of cost increase. It felt like they didn't really want to do this project.) Regarding the work done -- everyone showed up on time, and each person was pleasant to have in our home. They worked as a team, with good communication. Professional and friendly. Everett also pulled the permit and scheduled inspection. Things went smoothly. Overall great experience!

I went with them because they are local to Lincoln and I support Lincoln businesses whenever I can. Nick worked with me on a timeframe and came out as promised. He was very professional and very personable. I don't usually bother any hires with small talk, but Nick was warm and friendly, and we talked about Lincoln and what a great place this city is. Nick worked quickly and hung our new fixture. It is beautiful. I probably could've done this myself as I have hung numerous lights in my time, but this one had me concerned, well worth the money we spent. Highly recommend Springtown Electric.

What stood out the most was how honest and upfront he was -- no hidden fees, no upselling, just straight answers and fair prices. He installed four ceiling fans, recessed lights with dimmers, fixed my porch lights, my backyard flood lights, a couple of exhaust fans, and a number other things. The work itself was excellent, and he clearly knows his stuff. I love that he made excellent recommendations for products. He also let me know when the products I chose weren't compatible with my situation (e.g. the original porch lights I chose weren't hardwire, and they should have been). It's hard to find someone who's both skilled and genuinely trustworthy, but he's definitely that. I'll be calling him again for any future electrical work and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. I wish I had better/more pictures, but maybe I will load more later. Joe replied to me within about 30 minutes of my outreach via text on a Sunday morning, and where the 10-15 other businesses I reached out to either declined or just gave their quote/rate for inspection/replacement, Joe asked a further probing question pointing to a troubleshooting step I hadn't done yet, which isolated the issue to the BULB and unrelated to the ceiling fan or any of its light fixtures. Top score for super quick responsiveness while the business is "closed", as well as directing the issue towards the least-invasive solution, even if it "cost" him my business... THIS TIME that is, as while Joe / Neighborhood Electrical didn't "render services" for me in the usual sense, the high caliber integrity and customer service has convinced me and my wife to make them our first call on our next electrical need. PS, where most all other businesses listed/recommended for my project appear to be UNLICENSED according to CA.gov, Neighborhood Electrical clearly states their CA license # on their website, which clearly indicates proper licensure for the services I'm inquiring about. I'm shocked so many other businesses appear to NOT be properly licensed according to CA.gov!

I also asked for a quote for a whole house rewiring. They completed the job in about 2 hours and the fans look perfect. There was no mess. Having a professional electrician do the job makes me feel secure that the fans aren't going to short wire and light our house on fire. As far as the rewiring job, he said our current wiring looked good and he wouldn't recommend we spend the money and hassle. He said if we have circuits trip regularly, then we should think about it at that time. That saved us thousands of dollars. At the time of this review, he charged $145 to remove an old ceiling light and install a ceiling fan. He charges an additional $95 if the current junction box is not rated for a ceiling fan. I have to say that I was probably a bit of an annoying customer and yet I was treated respectfully. We set up our appointment window but then found out I was on call for a potential jury duty during the window, so they accommodated me by showing up early in the window and assured me they would be done in time if I had to report at 1:00. They finished the job with plenty of time. The other issue I had was that I wrote a check to pay and 2 days later got a fraud alert from my bank. Someone was using my account. I texted Joe and informed him that my bank may shut down my account making the check not clear. He was very nice about it. Turned out that the check cleared in time, so all was good.

Glad I went with Hagan Electric to fix this. A previous electrician from Mister Sparky Electric claimed the outlet needed to be rewired and was not getting any electricity. The Mister Sparky Electric guy charged $400 to tell my HOA: "Resident has square D panel which complies with today's standards. No need to change panel." All he did was look at the panel that day. His experience comes through with his quick understanding of a customer's needs and wishes, and he provides options where he sees them. He provides a detail estimate plus recommendations he notes. In our case, he identified that our 49 year old electric panel was one found to be a risk by insurance companies. "Zinsco electric panels are a fire and shock hazard and are no longer approved by electrical codes due to a history of malfunctioning circuit breakers that can melt to the bus bar." Garritt changed out the panel in just a few hours. Then efficiently added three new garage circuits, one for lights, one for garage door motors and for electric water heater.
