I'm so thankful a little birdie told me about The Haverstick. This past year, I opened a business…read moredown the street in Nora. I don't have a traditional office, so I'm always looking for remote places to work. I love a change of scenery and environment. Over the past year or two, I've slowly faded out my visits to a certain popular coffee establishment with a name shared by a character on Battlestar Galactica. So, when a friend told me about The Haverstick, I needed to check it out! I'm so glad I did. It has become my go-to office of choice! Housed in a community center of a local church, the environment has dim lighting and soft music. A perfect place to get focused and stay focused. They have a coffee bar that also offers a few food options. The coffee is good and very affordable. The staff is always friendly. There is usually only one person staffing the coffee shop, but they get to your order quickly. You just may have to wait if there is a large group, as happened to me once. But no worries. Simply have a seat and get to work, and they will call your name when your beverage and/or food is ready to pickup. The Haverstick is less a coffee shop and more a community shared-space work environment that offers coffee. They have a lot of comfortable chairs and tables of various sizes. The room is wide open and you never feel crowded, even if there is a decent amount of people. However, it's usually only a handful of other people around, so it's a great place to get things done. They also have conference rooms for rent. I'm grateful this church has opened its doors to the public and offers such a wonderful and inviting atmosphere. I look forward to returning soon and getting some more work done.

Launch Fishers and Indiana IoT hub are better options for Engineers, Software Developers, Founders, SaaS companies, CEOs, etc.. It's also very inclusive. This mural was painted in 2018 by Olson Paint Studios LLC. It is on the back of one Olson Paint…read moreStudios LLC one of the city's Midtown north parking garage. It is part of the city's effort to revitalize and beautify the area. The mural was commissioned by the city, which paid $42,000 for it. It was designed by Lucie Rice of Nashville, for $7,500 and painted for $34,525. They chose rice to design it after seeing an old poster that she created of the city. The mural does have a close resemblance to the poster and has the same color scheme. It depicts landmarks in the Midtown area including the Monon trail and the water tower, with the "MIDTOWN" in bold font across the center. The buildings in the mural are made up by Rice, but are in the architectural design of the area. All the images appear in a gear and is set upon a residential map. It is 30 feet long and 30 feet wide. I find this mural a bit dull, but is artistically pleasing though. I just think with all the planning and money spent that they could have came up with something more dynamic. The mural is intended to welcome Midtown visitors and they enter from the south. As with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. There is free street parking all along Monon Blvd and a garage (the one it is painted on) is available to park. You could also get a real good look of the mural from the windshield of your car doing a safe and strategic slow-rolling drive by. Either way, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip.

Really gorgeous coworking space in the famous Indianapolis Pyramids. You know--I don't think I'd…read moreever been in the Pyramids before. I've driven past them a hundred thousand times on 465. But never had the chance to go in them. Cowork 1010 is a side project of Office 1010. Office 1010 sells office furniture and had decked the space out with all the best in office chairs, desks, cabinets, etc. Then they thought "Why not use this space for actual work!" That means that all the furniture is top-notch, literally show room stuff. There were lots of comfy chairs as well as comfortable but very work ready office chairs. There were two conference rooms and a coworking room in addition to the main space in the middle. Power outlets were everywhere and there were screens with access to show presentations, etc., if needed. There were also multiple "phone booths" that allowed for more isolated phone calls or video chats. And even a two person phone booth for a mini-conference space if needed. Some of the comfy chairs had head surrounds to keep the sound out so you could work mostly in quiet. The views from the conference rooms were gorgeous. I have to take video calls fairly regularly in my job, and I'd love to have the people I'm talking to see those views behind me. There also was a fully stocked kitchen with fridges, a fancy coffee maker that could make everything (similar to what Ikea has in their cafe), and a flowing free beer tap. I even swung into the men's room to see how it looked. It was clean and well lit. I wouldn't be uncomfortable using it throughout the workday. The pricing was the only iffy point. There are many much cheaper options around the city. Several of the other attendees at the open house I was at mentioned it. Currently, I just work from home. So I didn't have a lot of comparison shopping prices in my head. But others said that the prices weren't in line with competition. That said, the Canadian brothers who ran it pointed out that many of the other alternatives aren't in such a prestigious building or decked out to the nines like this space. If you're in the market for a coworking space, it's worth checking this one out. I really loved the look of it and would be happy to work in there from time to time as needed.

CO-WORKING SPACE: The co-working space is nice and recently renovated. EVENT SPACE: The great space is also open to non-members to rent as well. We had a cocktail and painting class event here and loved using the multiple spaces. We had the cocktail class and catering set up in the beautiful kitchen, and used the multi-purpose room for the painting class. The owner Brian was super nice and helped us set up a few extra tables. They also have their different event space prices on their website too. The owner is so awesome, so this is definitely a place I love to support! They also do so much good for local businesses and the community, so def. check it out if you're looking for a space!
