She kept moving the needle around until I was in pain and near my inner elbow there is tons of swelling and soreness...just an inept person handling a needle. She claimed to have 25 years experience but it did not feel that way. I will going to a hospital, instead of Vitalant...all I wanted to do was help someone and give blood and I had a very horrible experience here. I did have trouble making an appointment online, but called and got one scheduled however they also take walk ins. Checkin is self initiated, with lots of sanitizer available, and then a series of tables and chairs to wait at. Right now with the need for blood, it was definitely busy but the staff was very apologetic and continued servicing each donar with speed. I've given blood many times with many centers and I was very impressed with their response when I passed out after donating casually eating my crackers. They swooped me up, got me in a wheel chair quickly with lots of ice packs and settled into a bed. Shout out to Denise who managed my vitals, got my head and lip checked out, then gave all the info to my husband to take me home after clearing it with the rest of the staff. They then called the next day to check on me. I felt really comfortable with this location and the staff that was working enough to go back. She let me know to tell them I had an incident before and they would take extra precautions. I'm happy I could give blood to support those who need it and have so many wonderful people and places to take on that job. Recommend this establishment.

I got in, got checked in right away- we went through all my medical history questions (after checking my blood to make sure my iron levels were high enough to donate) and everything else went incredibly smoothly. Everyone on the staff was informative, friendly and helpful. They said they're in the most need for red cells, so if you're getting that itch to do some good for the world, consider donating red cells -- though of course while blood, platelets and plasma are graciously accepted as well. They make sure you're ok after you donate by asking you to have a snack and wait a few minutes. Really, I felt like they did everything right. Donating full blood took me about 8 minutes. Hoping to go back in 8 weeks (the mandatory waiting period). And you should too.

I understand that this can happen, but what really bothered me was the lack of communication and care during the process. I was not properly guided on when to squeeze or relax my arm, which made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. The most concerning part was when the needle was removed. It felt rushed and rough, and my arm immediately started bleeding heavily. Instead of applying firm pressure right away, it felt like the situation wasn't handled with urgency or care. That made me uncomfortable and honestly concerned about how things were being handled. As a first-time donor, I expected more guidance, patience, and professionalism. This experience left me feeling uneasy, and I don't feel confident returning to this location. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future donors can have a safer and more supportive experience. At least the front desk ladies are nice. Btw if you do decide to go here, I would suggest paying attention to the machine making sure that the nurses notice you and the light on the machine make sure they're checking that and if they try to make it seem like it's your fault make sure you tell the front desk, ladies that you do not feel comfortable coming back here or that there was an issue with some of the things because of the communication please do because it's not right that these nurses are not paying attention. They got too many screens. I don't know if they're just like looking at the screens or what not but they need to pay attention communicate when you ask a question, they need to answer. Don't just let them do what they need to do. They need to communicate because getting needles yanked out of your arm or having them insert a needle into a bruised arm already yeah that's a no no they should know better.

I recently went back here as a new returning donor I give blood samples June 2 and donate June 5 so…read moremy next donation was June 9 they said I tested positive for HIV I said that's impossible if I don't have sex or didn't come in contact with anybody blood so I went that same day to the doctor and got negative results. So I went back to the center to talk to the manager and supervisor and they didn't want to take my proof that was negative. They didn't talk to me in private or anything. I saw with my own eyes they mishandling people blood because one of the workers throw the blood bowl in the garage and the manager was aware of this and just told him to get it out the garage. They also did my sister like this. Something should be done about those workers. I am gonna get that place investigated if that's the last thing I do cause you don't play with people life like that not to mention they laughed at me and wanted to talk to me in front of other people.
