The worst experience with a florist I have ever experienced. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent staff answering the business phone. After placing an order on 3/24/26 to be filled and delivered on 4/20/26 she charged our card on the day the order was placed, not filled. I was informed by staff at the Hotel we were going to be staying with, that I may want to reconsider placing an order with Plants and Things due to the excessive issues and complaints that have come from hotel guests who have used them in the past. I called to cancel my order on 3/30/26 and ended up leaving 3-4 messages over that week for a call back from the owner that never came. After yet another call to them, I got the most unprofessional staff member who said that the owner was not there. At this point I basically just told her I knew they were scamming customers with bad product, over charging for services not completed, and crooked practices. After hanging up with them, the owner called back within five minutes or so (She was there after all.) She then refused to cancel the order, or to refund our money. I contacted our bank to stop payment on the order and reported them for inappropriate business practices. I will also be reporting them to The Better Business Bureau this week. My recent experience shopping at Plants & Things .. Coalinga, Ca For my mother's funeral, I purchased a floral spray from a local florist for $350. What I received was deeply disappointing. In comparison, my daughter ordered a spray online for $187, and the difference in quality was striking. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words--and it was painfully obvious that the arrangement I received was nowhere near worth what I paid. What made this even more upsetting is that I was in a state of deep grief when I placed the order. I was crying during the consultation and was assured the spray would be beautiful and fitting for my mother. Instead, I felt embarrassed having it displayed at the service. It looked like something that might cost $100 at best. When I returned to the flower shop two days after the funeral to express my concerns and request a refund, the owner shockingly suggested that the funeral home must have removed flowers from the arrangement. I found this accusation to be completely unacceptable and offensive. I have since reported the incident to the Better Business Bureau, though I have not received any resolution. I have always made a point to support local businesses, but after this experience, I will not be supporting this one again. read more

No stars!!!! You don't deserve anything but a negative I called after I went in to complain about the spray of gladiolas I ordered for my fathers memorial service and the owner never called me back. The arrangement looked nothing like what I ordered.for over $200. It looked like a child did it. How do you stay in business with such ugly arrangements. Oh, and this isn't the first time. Called in a birthday request today which is the second time I have used Plants & Things. Not only was it a late order, day of birthday, the owner gave me a phenomenal price. The reason for 4 stars is the information on their Yelp page was incorrect, so I fixed it for them. Awaiting the moderators approval. I did get the owner's permission prior to submitting the change. She is extremely accommodating and a pleasure to do business with. I couldn't check-in because they are an hour away, so I simply called in my order. read more

I ordered an arrangement for a funeral service, I went down and ordered it from the book with a specific number, ordered it a week early, specifically stated NO ROSES, was told fresh flowers would be coming in day before services, I informed them services would be at 11:00 and I was informed that the flowers would be delivered at 10:00, it was a graveside service. Well, by 10:38 the day of the service the flowers still had not arrived, I called the shop, was told they had run out of flowers, they were trying to put an arrangement together, I yelled at the woman on the phone to cancel my order as it was a little late now and that they should have called me, and I hung up! As we are getting ready for the bishop to speak and everyone is sitting here comes the florist, places the arrangement behind the casket and scurries off! Good thing because I would have probably thrown it at her! The service lasted approximately 15 minutes, I placed the arrangement in my vehicle and brought it home! So, this arrangement was $300.00.....if I had gotten the one I ordered it would probably had been worth it, but the arrangement I received WAS NOT! The arrangement had 1 1/2 dozen yellow roses (I requested NO ROSES) hydrangeas, and gladiolas. Nothing in my original order is even in this arrangement! I wouldn't pay over $150.00, even the container was a cheap tin brown can, not what was ordered! The flowers weren't fresh! Most of the hydrangeas are dead or dying today and it's only been 16 hours since flowers were received and this post! I should have bought flowers at Save Mart, would have been cheaper, fresher, and on time! I'll never shop there again! Come back COALINGA FLOWERS/SAY IT WITH FLOWERS! read more

I'm giving it one star because I have to. I ordered a beautiful lavender bouquet with white roses. Not only was my order a day late but it also wasn't even a passable substitute for what I ordered. What my mother received was a spring bouquet that I could have picked up at SaveMart got $10. There weren't any white roses and only a couple sprigs of purple filler flowers. I've been to Plants & Things before and hadn't planned on coming back. Had I known my order from Teleflora would be sent to them I would have gone to Coalinga Floral myself. For my sisters wedding in June my sisters bouquets was falling apart. The petals on the roses were falling off as we started taking pictures 20 minutes after we received them. Instead of the cascade that we ordered for the cake, we got a bucket with left over springs flowers. Definitely not worth the $300 we spent on it. All in all, if you're in Coalinga and you need to order flowers I recommend you go to Coalinga Floral. read more

My brother passed away a week ago and the place I work for sent me some flowers from Plants and Things in Coalinga. It was delivered on a Thursday and I was not home to receive it and so I picked it up the next day after work. When I first saw the arrangement, it looked nice, but when the lady in the shop gave it to me, one of the flowers was already wilted. She gave me a packet to put in the water and told me to refill it when I got home. Once I got home, I realized how thrown together this arrangement was. There was so much greenery, like as if they used leaves from a Christmas tree. That's the only way I can describe it. So many leaves stuffed in the back.The flowers were just awful! They all wilted by the next day. I am so very disappointed. I will not be recommending this place to anyone! read more

I would never recommend this place to anyone. Not even at desperate measures. My best friend got married on september 21st and we had ordered her table cloths, chair covers, and sashes (bows for the chairs). When i got there to help put everything on they had already put the table cloths on and was starting to put the chair covers on. My jaw hit the floor when i seen that every single table cloth and chair cover had wrinkles the size of the grand canyon. For the sashes they were supposed to be a deep purple and instead we got 3 different colors of purple some light and some dark. I told the owner this was ridiculous and i was very disappointed in her business because she is supposably professional. Well any kind of professional would have first at least made her customer happy on her wedding day and went and got a damn iron or at least offered a discount. She didn't try to do anything to keep our bride from crying instead all she did was say thats how they came out of the dryer. Ugh. We payed $400 for wrinkles and 3 different purples so i hope she invested in an iron or at least a steamer with that $400. read more
