We are proud members of this CSA family for the last 3 years and you should be too. We have been…read moremembers of CSAs in several cities across the country and Lisa and her team at Bakers Acres are one of the very best. The farm itself feels like it was lifted out a storybook and we love to visit for the events they host for members (pea picking, pumpkins in the falls, bon-fires, etc). They are certified organic and they are not stopping there as they are always busy making improvements to make the farm and their distribution even more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) enjoy a "full share" which means we pick up a fresh box full of veggies for 18 weeks during the summer/fall months and if you do the math it's very inexpensive. The quality of the vegetables is always 5 star and super fresh. Most of the items are staple items that we can use easily incorporate into our weekly meals and once and a while there is a more unusual ingredient that is fun to experiment with... don't worry about meal ideas as Lisa provides weekly recipes and info about how to cook/eat each item. I can't recommend membership enough... one tip is to make sure to sign up early as each year the number of shares are limited and usually sell out.

Excellent certified organic, local produce. As a member,…read moreyou receive a full box either every or every other week featuring seasonal classics as well as unique varieties all season long. If you like to buy organic produce at the store or enjoy visiting a famers' market or co-op, you should try this out for a season. There really is no comparison to the quality and variety of the produce, and there is a tremendous amount of a feel good factor when you commit to sustainably support a local farmer. If you're already on board the CSA train and just deciding which one to join, this one is wonderful. The owner is very focused, driven, and excellent at communication. She sends out deatiled updates on the farm as well as storage tips and great recipes for the week's delivery. She holds several fantastic events on the farm each year and really makes you feel involved and appreciated in her efforts to better our earth, health, community, and food system. She treats you like a true partner in both, business and this mission which is both humbling and empowering. That beats a mundane trip to the grocery store any day.

There's no admission for the orchard but all activities required payment except for the petting zoo. You don't get to pick your own apples and they have ready pick bags for purchased but very limited in quantities. There's parking in the designated lots and on street for free. Most activities cost $3.00/person for pumpkin painting and wagon rides. They had face painting but I wasn't sure what the cost was. The apple trees look pretty bare and the pumpkin patch seemed small from above but it could have wrapped around to the back, I'm not sure. There's a little Koi fish pond with a handful Koi fishes. Overall, it was a small orchard and pretty muddy from the rain the day before but a nice option for surrounding towns to come in the St. Cloud area.

Having gained a monopoly on general grocery in the area after the departure of Cub Foods, Cash Wise jacked their prices sky-high, left their stores filthy and let their customer service go to pieces. I've lived away from Saint Cloud for a long time now, but still go to Cash Wise when I visit my parents. And wow!! How much difference a couple years makes!! The stores are clean, the customer service friendly as can be once again...and the prices have dropped drastically!! Their selection has also skyrocketed; they have things in stock when stores in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area don't!! Holy cow!! Suffice to say that Cash Wise has become one of my favourite places to shop, even though I no longer live in the Saint Cloud area. Whenever I visit my parents, I always stop here and drop around US $50 to $100 on stuff to bring back home with me. Cash Wise has come back into its own at the very same time that Cub Foods all but lost its soul.
