This used to be owned by an Italian couple that retired 2 years ago. The service sucks now! Do not go there. I took my $350 Coach shoes there to have the heels replaced that's it. They replaced the heels with a beige color heel of their choice. My heel was chocolate/dark brown color when I dropped them off for repair. When I picked them up the first time the lady said... well the beige color matches. I said, that's not the color of the heal that matches the leather on my shoe. So, I returned them. When I picked them up a month later after having traveled for a month. These people very unprofessionally polished the beige heel to dark brown. The lady at the counter looked at me dumb founded like she was not aware of what was done to try to rectify the incorrect heel color. I did not feel like going there with her as I just got off a traveling event for past 30 days. I told her your service is sketched and I would not be back. The previous owners took more pride in ensuring quality service. But I wanted to for sure give this new management/service a review and display the horrible job they did in replacing heels on my shoes. Should be simple thing to do in this type of business. I suppose they did not want to replace them. So decided to unprofessionally paint them. Beware the service sucks! No quality! And they don't seem to care! Plano Shoe Repair is no longer owned or operated by the people that received the 4-5 star ratings. The current owners don't even perform the work in house, they ship it out. Recently we dropped off a pair of women's boots for new heals only. After 3 weeks we were told they couldn't find them. Ultimately they turned up in Austin Texas. Why in the world would a Plano operation send the boots to Austin? We did get them back and the work done was as expected but the hassle wasn't worth it. UPDATE: The owner in Austin called me Thursday (7/11) and asked that I bring the shoes in again for him to handle personally. Monday he called to let me know what could be done and they would be ready by this coming Thursday. The store called today, (7/17) to let me know the shoes were ready for pickup. Unfortunately stretching the shoes caused some cosmetic wrinkling that cannot be reversed, but he did cleanup the residual glue left on the Louboutins when they added the red vibrams originally. The third pair that was brought in for the scuffed scraped heel, they had repaired earlier and after seeing the repair he did explain that was all that could be done unless I rewrap the heels. I left as is, since to rewrap the heels would be $80-$100. read more

Took an old pair of shoes in that needed insoles and could have used a clean up. Was advised I could do the insoles myself but I asked them to glue them in. Exoected date was for a week Expected a quick easy repair but took several weeks to get a "text" to pick them up. Should have gotten an official written estimate, not just a scribble on my ticket. Tureens out 2X expected and the glued in soles were a ooor install. Had to bring the shoes home trip up some of inside, redie some outside and polish them. Others gave this place great reviews. I would not bring them another item based on the shot tu work on a simple job. If you won't take care with the little things what short cuts or lack of care do you take with bigger jobs. Jodi is beyond rude, her customer service skills are non-existent. George sold the business two years ago, I miss he and his wife. They were kind, professional and the shoe repair was phenomenal! I just picked up 3 pairs of shoes, heels and toes and one pair a clean up, $165. I presented my coupon and they would not honor the coupon, I was told because the order was complete. The shoe they cleaned up, are completely ruined. They are nubuck, it looks like they were spray painted. They are stiff and the color is not even. I would not recommend this place for shoe repair. When George owned it.....it was the best, sadly, those days are gone!!! read more

When I took two pair of sandals to have the straps sewn down, I thought $35 was a little high, but I don't think there is another shoe repair place close, so I left them. No problem with the quality of the work, but $70 to sew down four straps has lost them a 30-year customer. read more

They shortened the straps on some dress sandals for me, as I have narrow feet. They did not measure or mark and as a result, one of the straps is too tight across my foot and cuts into my skin. This is a busy place, so I would recommend going with a shoe already marked if you are looking for that type of service. read more

I needed my booties repaired that our puppy chewed up before I could even wear them. I waited a month before the lady who I guess runs the store admitted they hadn't even started working on the boots. This is after I called twice and my husband had to call 3+ times asking for an update. We also found out that none of the repairs are done in house, they are shipped out. Additionally, the lady was extremely unfriendly and dismissive the whole time. I now see most of these positive reviews must have been about the previous owners. Needless to say, we asked them to be returned and we picked them back up and had them repaired Coit Boot and Shoe repair. They were done within a week and look amazing. read more

I brought in a pair of my Jimmy Choo sandals and my husbands boots. I needed both pairs to be stretched a bit. My sandals had started to pinch on the sides of my feet. They told me it would be no problem. They had me pay ahead of time which was $28 for both. I spent a good amount of money on these sandals so I was really worried about them stretching them and having it look obvious or having them damage them. But i kept my fingers crossed and handed over the shoes. I returned 4 days later to pick up my shoes. Not only were they perfectly stretched but they even fixed a scuff mark on the top of my shoe that I hadnt even mentioned. My husbands boots now fit him perfectly and I can wear my sandals without getting blisters. I would definitely recommend coming here to have your shoes fixed! I took a pair of old sneakers to get resoled and cleaned up. When I picked them up I was completely shocked at what I found. Not only had the shoes not been cleaned up( I was told they wold be "taken care of") but the sole job was shoddy. there is glue on the soles and on a few spots on my shoes! On top of that I was told that it would be an additional $35 to clean them up, after I had already spent $75. Word of advice for anyone who wants to bring their shoes here, have one of your children do the job for you, It will probably turn out better. The original Owner, George, has sold the business and the new owners are terrible. I dropped shoes off to have them resoled and polished. When I came to pick them up they couldn't find them. After having me look through the shoes in back of the shop they discovered my shoes got mixed up with another customers. My shoes were shipped to be repaired at their plant in Austin. I have dropped off my shoes here each Christmas break to have them cleaned and shined. I didn't realize the owners changed although I didn't recognize the people. When I got my shoes back, it was way more expensive than before and they took some creative license with my shoes. My brown dress shoes now have a dark toe and heel which is pretty weird. I'll find somewhere else to take these shoes to see if they can clean the coloring and I'll have to find another place next year for my annual cleaning. read more

Nooo, won't be back here. Took a brand new pair of sandals in for minor repair. Couldn't understand him and he had no interest in even looking at my shoes. There is a reason Plano Shoe Repair has nothing but 5 star reviews and that is because they are the best at what they do. The gentleman George I believe is his name, is the owner. George repairs shoes with old world craftsmanship. I realize this is America and sadly we are an instant gratification, throw it away if it's broken society but I happen to be a shoeaholic and I try desperately to maintain what I already own. Some of my shoes are very expensive and some are at the opposite end of the spectrum and are very inexpensive but CUTE. With George's skill, George was able to salvage about 10 pairs of super cute silk wedges whose heels had worn off of their cork base. George basically performed surgery and cut a heel from a rubber sole and attached it to the cork base. In fact, George's repaired heels have already lasted longer than the inferior heels that were on the shoes originally. The original heels were worn off after approximately 4 wearings, walking on pavement. Enter George to the rescue. He was also able to repair an elastic that had snapped in the heel strap. Now some may say this is too much to invest in a simple pair of silk wedges but they are my favorite Summer shoes and I have the same style in multiple colors. George and his son are also very pleasant. Their attitude and skill tells me they appreciate my business. This is the type of merchant I prefer to patronize. So if you have a favorite pair of shoes that have seen better days, please take them to George at Plano Shoe Repair. Who knows, maybe your shoes' best days may be ahead of them with help from George. read more

Best shoe repair place i have ever used, period! This is old school quality and old school customer service. I have brought at least 15 pairs of cowboy boots in this shop for everything from minor work, such as, add taps to the heels and full replaced resole. Recently brought in two pair of cowboy boots. One pair the heel was too high for me, so they lowered the heel - not an easy job, you have to make sure that the heel height will match the arch on cowboy boots - well they did a GREAT job! Now they are the second most comfortable pair I own. The other pair i had a complete resole done. From a leather sole to a crepe sole. Wow, they are now the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. BTW both were done i think a day and a half EARLY. And at a fair price! I really cannot say enough about the quality and service. I have always been treated very well in this shop. I have been wearing cowboy boots, combat boots and high end dress shoes my entire life. I buy quality shoes and boots that can be repaired and last years and years. I've only been here once but the owner seems to have serious experience. The shop has been open for about 14 years I believe. Small and simple, the owner isn't the most friendliest of owners. He asks what you want and gives you a no muss no fuss answer. I brought in some vintage Ferragamo shoes and asked to get the bottom of the heels fixed. He took a look at it and then said how long it will take and when to pick it up. I had to ask for the price and it was $15 to get that fixed along with re glueing the insides of the shoe. The shoes look great. I don't know the level of complexities he can fix but I'm sure he's at least worth coming for the minor problems. read more
