Pt. 1 - If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My first and last time here and I walked out with the worst experience of my life. I went here on my lunch break and being 6 months pregnant I was craving a smoothie. Working in the Southpark area this was the closest place to go to on my short break. As soon as my coworker and I showed up, we were coldly greeted by an employee named Lauren. She was at a register on her phone and barely looking up, told us we need to order at the other register, so we did. At the register the girl who took our order was nice and polite, no complaint there. As I waited for my smoothie I decided to order food in the food court, as I realized it could take a while knowing there were other people ahead of me in line. Sure enough when I returned my smoothie was ready.
Being inside of the mall and in a populated area where the food court is, it can get really loud. I heard the employee, Lauren call out a smoothie but she barely spoke loud enough for me to hear so I wasn't 100% sure if it was my smoothie, as there were other people waiting. I went up to her and asked her if that was the watermelon breeze, which is what I got and she stared at me with a blank look on her face as if I had just asked the most stupid question ever and she mumbled, "yeah". I chose to ignore it once again and instead thanked her and then went to stand by my coworker. We waited for her smoothies as well as three other smoothies that we ordered for our other coworkers back at the office.
She had finished my coworkers watermelon breeze, she had ordered the one with tajín and we wanted to be sure that there wasn't a mix up between her drink and mine before I took a sip. I asked Lauren if the second watermelon breeze was the one with tajín. She looked at us again in such a pitiful way and said "No". My coworker said, "Well that is the one I had ordered". Lauren then rolled her eyes and walked away. I'm guessing to check if the receipt had that on there. After viewing the ticket she realized that she had messed up and proceeded to grab the smoothie and a little bottle of tajín and then I watched her dump the smoothie in the blender like we somehow pissed her off. At this point, my coworker, and I were growing impatient with her consistent bad attitude. She then finishes up the last three smoothies that we had ordered and sets them down, all looking like shit by the way with the smoothie juice just dripping down the side of the cup, all messy and making no effort to making them look appealing.
At this point, she wasn't even busy. We see that she sets down a few more smoothies, but since they weren't called, we weren't sure if they were ours and we did not want to just grab them and leave. Lauren is just standing there looking at us as, as if saying, "you're still here?" All we wanted was to receive confirmation on which smoothies were which so then we know whom to properly hand them off to. I did not think that was a hard question to answer, regardless she seemed very irritated by our question and made it a big deal that I had had enough of her stupid attitude, so I go to grab the drinks I simply said, "I just asked you a simple question there is no need for your bad attitude. You're gonna need to change your attitude". She started going off and she ranted nonstop about how she doesn't need an attitude change and whatever more nonsense she felt the need to say.
I have worked in the service industry since I was 16. Never once was I able to speak back to a customer the way this impolite girl thought that she could talk to me. I have been called many names and I've had people go off on me over the simplest things, but I've had to swallow that and always give them the right of way. Which this ignorant girl seems to lack, is actual work ethic. As soon as she started arguing, I told her I just need to speak to your manager or whoever is her supervisor. She then says, with a smirk "oh you need to speak to my supervisor? Well he isn't gonna do shit, but let me get my supervisor for you." So what kind of management is running this place if even the employee think it is funny and not a form of punishment to have the manager called on them, in a place of business that happens to be in South Park Mall? read more
