Every time we come to VA beach we stop by planet pizza. This time we received a complimentary photo and additional photos taken for purchase. We ordered Parmesan garlic wings that were loaded with Parmesan garlic. We also got a 14 inch half pepperoni and cheese pizza cut twice for smaller slices. For how busy it was the food came out quickly. The restaurant had air conditioning and is decorated with alien decor from the ceiling to the walls. It is very creative and my kids love coming here just for the vibe! Definitely add this to your list especially if you have kids. It's a very cool pizza parlor. read more

Visited here on vacation. I'd give the inside a 10/10. The alien decorations are DOPE! & they play good music which is always a plus. Most of the staff were friendly & welcoming. Now on to the food ... It came out hot (literally steaming). I do like the different pizza sizes, they range from "mini to xl". The pizza was "good". It wasn't nasty at all but it didnt quite have that distinct taste to it. Tasty for sure! I cleaned my plate lol I had "The Works". My husband had one as well with hot wings on the side. My sister had buffalo chicken pizza. If you need an estimate of the pricing, we ordered 3 minis, hot wings, and 2 alcoholic drinks (cocktails w/vodka in a can) & we paid about $76. I went back & ordered a side of fries & a small drink & paid about $11. Side note: Idk if this was an everyday thing but there was a guy there taking snapshots. He was with "Hollywood Pictures". My family and I came here on July 4th to get pizza for lunch to enjoy at the beach. The young lady that rung me up was extremely kind and ensured she had my order correct. She was smiling and assisting others with questions as well. The manager who was also ringing up some customers didn't seem as friendly as she was so I am glad they had such a shining star in this establishment. I ordered the mozzarella sticks as well as a large pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese and has a mini bottle of wine while I waited. This is a themed restaurant that is located off of the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. It is on Atlantic avenue. It has a space them/alien theme and is decorated with neat alien stuff all over the restaurant. You will see large alien murals inside and outside of the place. They have a huge indoor dining area and out patio seating on the sidewalk. It is a pretty neat place and my littles would have loved it. There is metered street parking and a few commercial lots and garages within walking distance that you can park at to visit here. The meters cost about $2/ hour and the lots vary in price depending on what is going on and the season. They have subs, salads wings and of course pizza. I ordered a BLT sub with a side of fries. The sub came with some chips. It took about 7 minutes or so for me to get my food. It was ok. Pretty much a standard average sub. What made my experience better was the staff. They were amazing, so very friendly. They went to each table to check on how everything was. I can not stress how nice they were. They bring your food to your table after you order it and then they clean your table after you leave. You just get up and go. The food here is a bit pricer than other similar places, but you are on the beach and you do get a ton of food. This is a fun family restaurant that beach goers can visit, especially with the little ones. read more

They were quick to prepare the three pizzas and the mozzarella sticks I ordered, so the service was fast. It was quite empty, but it was a Sunday late afternoon after the marathon had completed, so that is what I will assume the reasoning is. I enjoyed my pizza and my wife enjoyed hers. I ordered a gluten free (GF) crust w/ 4 toppings (double toppings of beef & single toppings mushrooms and black olives). I paid $15.99 (before tax). It's important to mention that GF crusts only come in the smallest size pie (about 8-10" diameter). So I expect that, at a minimum, if I have to pay so much for such a small sized pizza, the least they can do is prepare it properly. They didn't. The crust was dry, hard, and brittle...like a salad crouton. I have only eaten GF crusts for 3 years now. I even make them myself occasionally. So I know they are usually soft and carry a little moisture when prepared right. And they skimped me a lot on the toppings. I walked there in the nearly cold from my hotel at night after flying all day and this was my first meal. This is unacceptable, especially for a business that asks for tips on the receipt as soon as you pay, which I think has become a disgusting habit of most businesses. I have no problem with tipping. But I have a very serious problem that customers are now expected to tip BEFORE the service has completed and we've had a chance to determine if a tip is deserved. See picture below and look at how poorly they prepare my pizza. I do not recommend, unless you have a thing for eating overpriced cardboard with almost no toppings. So we stopped in here thinking we would just get a pizza and run back to the hotel. When we saw they had alcohol we decided to have the meal there. We ordered the Long Island iced tea and when they came out they were in huge margarita glasses...score. We we got 2 of the Iced Teas but they came out different colors.
