The store contained the usual departments--fruits, vegetables, baked goods, deli meats and cheeses, butcher meats, seafoods, canned and boxed foods, frozen foods, dairy, beverages, pet foods, home goods, cleaning products, etcetera. The store also sold lottery tickets and surprisingly had slot machines. This was probably our first-ever time shopping at a Sprankle's, so I paid attention to the prices and compared them to other grocery stores' prices. We thought that the blackberries, boxes of canned sodas, and individual cans of wet cat foods were priced too high. Some products had stickers that said "Reduced for Quick Sale" but did not mention the new price. I also paid attention to the quality of the foods. I noticed grapes that were moldy. Nonetheless, we did find many foods to buy: apples, bananas, green beans, potatoes, mushrooms, onion, turkey, potato chips, popcorn, drink mix, etcetera. The cashier asked us if we were members of the rewards program and if we wanted to join, and we said no to both. (We do not live nearby.) She did a very good job of scanning our foods, charging our credit card, and thanking us. Sprankle's also offers a Rewards program, home delivery, catering, and group fundraising, but I have never used them.

Chicken wings there are huge...not like in your local grocery store. We live in upstate NY and when we go in visit we always stop there to load up on meats that I'll freeze for future meals. PA always has the best framers markets and road side farm stands. Wish we had them in upstate NY. One more reason I loved living there!! If you're in the area...stop in.

Add on the crispy bacon and soft bun - this hoagie was quality and well priced Dirt Pudding - I'm a sucker for a dessert and what better than a single serving of a fresh made goodie. The balance of sweetness was spot on with a great crunch layer on the top and bottom of Oreo.

The refrigerators had local dairy products, meat, and pierogies. I had to get the spinach and ricotta pierogies (made in McKees Rocks). I can't say no to a snickerdoodle cookie and there were pumpkin snickerdoodles too. Lots of homemade breads, pies, cinnamon rolls, etc. It is the attention to detail that stood out to me. The radishes were in a resealable (ziploc like) bag. The mushrooms were in a clam shell container. I didn't have to find storage containers which I appreciate. The staff were very friendly and well versed in the products. Ample parking. If you miss the GPS turn, make the next right and come in through the back of the parking lot. Firstly, it wasn't too crowded like other surrounding pumpkin patches. The farm is beautiful and has plenty of parking. They have farm animals, a vintage store, hayrides, pumpkin patch, little market, and then a coffee truck, Mars Farmhouse Cafe pop-up, and a brewery pop-up. A recommendation came in to check this place out. The wife and I took a ride just to see and get information. We met Jeremy at the door, who was nothing but awesome. He gave us a breakdown of their facility, what they do, and how we can become part of it. To me it was like a mini Costco or Sams club. You can buy in bulk or you can buy in normal size. They have a catalog so you can preorder they will get it for you and you just pick it up or opt for delivery. (there is a certain number for delivery). If you are looking to support the local farmer, organic, or just ready to get away from processed food go here. The staff is extremely knowledgable, curtious, helpful, and the food is decently priced.
