I'm a Black Card member who regularly visits the Planet Fitness Ocoee location and always spends time in the relaxation zone before heading out. I recently checked out the new lounge equipment at the Mount Dora location and was really impressed! Unfortunately, the Ocoee location just underwent a remodel. Still, it didn't receive any of the latest equipment they promised, such as the CryoLounge or the hydro lounge beds that sit upright rather than in full recline. Since the CryoLounge costs over $26,000, I think it's worth using my Black Card benefits to enhance therapy to my replaced knee. Still, Mount Dora is 45 minutes away, and I really wish Ocoee had upgraded with the new renovations. read more

I had a terrible interaction with the manager, Niqua. And it seems I'm far from the only one. I'm unsure as to why planet fitness continues to keep this woman on as a manager. Her attitude is absolutely atrocious. I'm a black card member and I've had an issue with tanning beds not having all the lights working. I let the staff know several weeks ago that one of the tanning beds had two lights out, and they were unable to give me an answer as to when it would be fixed. this happened so long ago that they know not to book me in this one particular tanning bed because the problem still hasn't been fixed. On August 5 I went to go tanning and a different bed now also had two lightbulbs out. I did my tan and then went to talk to the staff about the issue to which the manager immediately bit my head off. She was waving her hands in the air, kept repeating that I wouldn't let her speak and that I had a horrible attitude she described as " mean nice". At one point, she told me to leave the facility, mind you I never raised my voice or gave her a bad attitude. I was honestly really confused as to why she was so hyped up. By the end of it, she would not tell me what massage chair I was supposed to use, waved her hands in the air and gesture to a staff member to finish assisting me. I also wanted to ask her about the gym members in the lobby who got Chick-fil-A DoorDash. It just seems really odd to me that a gym would allow fast food to be delivered to their very open lobby. When I brought it up to her, she told me that they are just kids and that I put my nose into their business. Mind you, these are kids who are not paying members and are only using the facility during the summer for their free program. I have tried to contact corporate, but I'm really hoping this review will get the attention of the upper management. This isn't the only negative interaction that I've witnessed. I've also heard her beating her staff about not cleaning as good as she does. Which is odd because all of them are always up there hanging out with each other and on their cell phones. They really couldn't give a crap about the guests as they come and go. I really hope planet fitness upper management reaches out to me sooner than later because the fact that they employ someone so incredibly unprofessional blows my mind. And I think everyone in Eustis and the surrounding areas need to be aware of how big of a problem she is before they sign up at this location. I was visiting friends out of town and went to the PF twice while I was there. Both times, I saw staff members cleaning the treadmills/work out equipment. It made me realize that despite going to the location by my house daily, I have NEVER seen anyone cleaning any thing. I literally bring Clorox wipes with me when I go. Can this be addressed? Staff is always hanging out behind the front desk. They barely look away from their cell phones as guests check in. 0 acknowledgement when walking up to the desk with a question or to purchase a drink. It sucks because we live in a small town with practically no other gym options. How can we get this fixed? read more

I have tried contacting the manager several times for 2 months now to resolve a billing issue. When I finally got a hold of her (Shaniqua) at the Eustis gym, she was very rude. The manager continued to talk over me and interrupt me as I was asking her to "please listen to me". At one point I stated to her that as a leader managing a facility and being in customer service, she needed to be more sympathetic and listen to her customers concerns instead of wanting to be right and being argumentative. Shaniqua stated "don't tell me how to do my job and I will not be helping you, you can call corporate" and proceeded to hang up on me. When I called back she stated "stop calling here I will not be helping you call corporate" I work in the customer experience industry and this is not how you handle Any situation. The issue I have been working on has been going on for 2 months now and still is not resolved. I would NEVER recommend this location or facility to anyone! I went to have a look and see the hours and class offerings. The guy behind the desk sighed heavily as he showed me a small laminated card that had some pricing on it... I asked about classes even though I really didn't understand what he was showing me on the laminated card.All he did was point to some numbers.... I think it's 39.00 a month? He said he "didn't know anything about the classes"... I asked to see a class schedule. He said "We don't have one." I asked if they had any kind of class fitness there and he mumbled something about "the schedule isn't up yet"....Ok...This was the second Saturday of the month....Really? He said he could take my phone number and "someone will call me" to tell me about classes.... I just turned around and walked out..... You really made it easy for me to decide on membership... I had a horrific experience with planet fitness Eustis Florida. I had a membership there, then I got a personal trainer. I use the trainer three days a week. I go in Wednesday asked for her, they said she called in sick. I said they don't call the clients and cancel? The kid behind the counter said no we don't do that. I said, you don't do that? you don't call the clients and tell them that their trainer is not going to be there? he said no. I said so the trainer doesn't call or the staff for planet fitness nobody calls to cancel somebody's training appointment? Tom the guy again says no we don't do that...she has hundreds of clients she can't call everybody! I said hundreds of clients I said every time I come I'm only the client she trains. He said oh you would be surprised and laughed. I stood there baffled to the arrogance, rudeness the cockiness of this young man! I said I can't believe that a company like this wouldn't call and give their clients a heads up when they have a standing appointment. I said I have a business a nonprofit and have had several businesses and have in my life. This is not a good way to do business. This kid was so arrogant and obviously had an ego trip on authority. I have never been treated so rudely I said Do you have a phone number to planet fitness corporate? He says, no we're not allowed to give it out. I said ok do you have an email address for corporate? he said you have to look it up online ..each time replying with such arrogance I stood there in awe, dumbfounded by this young Smart Alec cocky kid. I was actually speechless! I asked if I could speak to a manager he said I am the manager. I said well I'm sorry but you're a poor excuse for a manager and then he screamed at me pointed at the door and said get out you are terminated!! I said what? I shook my head negativity, Blown away as I walked out of the gym I went right home and called planet fitness corporate a week went by I didn't hear anything so I called today and they told me I am terminated. They said the young man behind the counter said I called him all kinds of names which is a blatant out and outlie they have these kids behind the counters as managers they're disrespectful they're rude and then this kid Tom blatantly lied. I told him he was a poor excuse for a manager ( HE WAS). and I walked outI'm a 59-year-old woman I don't need to call people names I was very upset that I had to stop my work my business put on my gym clothes go to the gym to find out my trainer called in sick and then to be treated rudely and disrespected like I was. This place does not care about their clients and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any company I don't care if they were five dollars a month they would not be worth it terrible business and for them to believe this young kid manager who said I called him names is beyond me I'm a grown woman I've owned four businesses in my life I own a nonprofit business now. Let me start by saying I don't understand the negative reviews I see on here! Hubby and I have been going here for over a year. First manager we were not impressed with. Then along came Tom and the new crew. Shaniqua (I believe she's the assistant manager) as well as KJ, Eric, Zay, and Emma. The difference with this crew is night and day! They are ALWAYS smiling and greet you when you come in. They really seem to enjoy working with each other, as well as interacting with the members. They are always busy cleaning, vacuuming, and wiping down the machines. There really is such a noticeable difference now, and we couldn't be happier to have this crew here at our location! Prior to this I was very satisfied with the gym. This makes no sense to me because I did not want to cancel, I just wanted the fees to start after the gym reopened. Someone is using the tanning bed trash cans as bathrooms. Before any video was reviewed i was called and accused. They claim IT couldn't look at the video?I've never been accused of anything Like this - completely unprofessional. The motion light was on when i walked in. It was a stand up but if the beds aren't cleaned after each occupant why are we paying? JT called BACK to tell me he was in the wrong for the accusation as he FINALLY watched the video and sorry "his employees dropped the Ball" That doesn't cut it...don't blame them. Worst gym ever.. if you have any experience with lifting DO NOT COME HERE!! They will yell at you for anything!! If you drop 75lb dumbbells 1 inch from the ground you are getting yelled at. If the smith machine bar hits your chest you are getting yelled at. It's pathetic. read more

What a beautiful gym. I love all the services they have. Most of the people say 95% are pleasant and helpful. You do have a few nasty front end folks. I think the biggest issue at this gym is more related to,the tanning rooms. You need wireless intercoms or buzzers or something. I been trapped in those rooms for 15-30 minutes waiting for the front desk to turn on the machines. I think you should know that I had to get dressed and walk down to the front desk to get them to turn on the booths St lest 3 times. I try not to get upset but it is very frustrating and to have your personal scold me for being aggravated is to much. I have been a member for year and half but rarely go.
