This is a much needed coffee shop within the new town center…read more The shop is decadently decorated with plush sofas and armchairs. There are plenty of tables and seats and it's bright, light and very clean. The selection of beverages is excellent; there is a lot to choose from both hot and cold. The hot drinks are served in huge bowl sized mugs! There is also quite a good choice of food both hot and cold, these are all pre-packed however (although I think all Costa's are the same! They also have a rather good cake and biscuit selection which accompany their drinks very well!! On a downside I think the service is quite poor! The stroppy girl behind the counter really needs to start smiling and speaking, she grunted to me the amount and failed to tell me that I needed to wait at the counter for my drinks (which took her ages to make!) so I sat waiting for ages until she came over to me and asked me to go collect them, in dire need of some customer service training, I think!

I was pleasantly surprised at this store. It has a nice open feel to it when you walk in with the fruit and vegetables at the front displayed in a open nice spacious manner with plenty of room to get around. It looked very inviting. I found things easy to find and the prices were great too. I did have to queue a bit at the check outs as all the tills were not open, but I think it depends what time of day you visit. There is a huge car park with no problems finding a space even though the supermarket was quite busy and there is a petrol station next door. I will definitely be using this branch again as it is easy to get to without any traffic congestion and the store has a good layout and good prices.

The cafe is relatively new to the village having been converted from an old blacksmiths (hence the name). The coffee shop is owned by the same couple who run the Coffee Place in Kettering and they have stuck with the same winning formula. Compact lunchtime menu with teatime treats. Home made biscuits and cakes make for good eating. The interior is contemporary while maintaining the tradition and history of the building. Everytime we have been there the place is buzzing with a good collection of locals, walkers and business people. I would strongly recommend this is place as a point to meet people or grab a coffee after a walk around the village.
