This is the first time I had not picked out the actual arrangement and trusted the "Custom Design" giving ideas on colors and types of flowers and stated it was for a funeral service. Rarely do I leave a negative review, but today I am. I called (from Georgia) to see if I could have flowers delivered to Gobles. Since I was calling from Georgia, the person to whom I spoke with assumed I did not know anything about the area...except I lived in that area for 18 years. They told me Gobles was too far to deliver...17 miles from Plainwell. But per their website, they do deliver to Wayland...also 17 miles from Plainwell. But they will deliver to the funeral home in Gobles. Go figure. In my confusion and in an attempt to understand, I asked about these discrepancies. The person I was speaking with became low-key rude, snippy, and condescending and told me among other things that Gobles was simply too far away and suggested I call a different florist. I contacted Plainwell Florist directly, as it was recommended by Life Story Funeral home. I placed the order with Diane and clearly stated, what I wanted to be added to the arrangement. Unfortunately, after it arrived to the funeral home it was nothing like what I specifically requested. First, the variety of plants were supposed to be in a dark lavender container, not a basket that looks like it should be for a child's Easter gift, there was no peace lily plant, and the bright pink bow was not appropriate for a funeral. I am completely embarrassed to say the least. Very disappointing. read more

I stopped in to order a casket spray of yellow roses. As I was grieving, it was very difficult for me to speak. She was extremely kind, compassionate, empathetic, and understood exactly what I wanted even though my words were not understandable. The 'Yellow Rose of Texas' casket spray was magnificently, perfectly, beautiful. They have my loyalty forever. read more

I used plainwell flowers for my wedding. Their communication among themselves is extremely poor and with their customers it is even worse. It's nearly impossible to contact them because if they Are the slightest bit busy they ask for you to call them another time. When you go in to talkto them, they act surprised or annoyed. The flowers were not what I wanted but were at least pretty. Some problems that occured due to poor communication were: One vase per table were empty (we had two vases on each table), and I cancelled the flower petals and we got flower petals. The cake flowers were put on the wrong layers. When we went in to return the vases and discuss the problems, they only offered us a sorry. For a girl who walked in to her wedding reception to the sight of empty flower vases, that wasn't very satisfying. Unless you are an extremely nagging bride I would not recommend them. read more

WARNING CONSUMERS!!!!! Today is the visitation for my best friend's grandfather. This morning when I reviewed the website I saw an item listed for $10 which seemed to good to be true. So I called in and the lady on the phone said thank you for bringing it to their attention that an arrangement like that could be done for $100. I agreed to the additional cost. I was later called and informed the arrangement is actually a $250 arrangement. The gal resisted but said she would do the arrangement at $100 when I said I did not feel this was my burden. Got another call from a gentlemen named Andrew Porritt (at least that is what the caller id said) saying they would not be able to honor the order due to market pricing. He told me to call around and find another floral shop to do it for that price. At this point I have been quote two prices and it just keeps going up. Not to mention if I contact another florist at least they would not be quoting incorrect prices. read more
