It means that he can help with the heavy work associated with stocking the shop in the mornings, and then can move onto his regular gardening clients safe in the knowledge that everything has been taken care of. Richard is not a greedy man, and is often called out to one-off jobs where people have been charged a fortune for shoddy workmanship that needs rectifying. This kind of thing doesn't sit well with him. Charging a fair rate, he often ends up being the regular gardener for these unfortunate people. He laughs when he tells you that he likes to play fair, explaining that his clients know where to find him if they need to... so there's no way he could get away with any shenanigans even if he wanted to!

I was trying to put up some blinds in my bedroom, but needed to cut them to size . Being a bit helpless in these matters, I ended up going over the road to this place for a saw of some kind. The guy in the shop was lovely, and when I told him what I was attempting to do he offered to cut it to size for me - so off I went back to my flat to get the blinds, which he then sorted out for me. Talk about customer service! I'd highly recommend this little independent shop over the bigger chains such as B&Q, where the staff are often elusive, dismissive and indifferent. Here you get a personal service with a genuine smile!

I don't know where the traders get their stock from, but some of them must have an incredible address book! A lot of them seemingly have endless access to the most incredibly desirable objects. Their lives must be heavenly! I considered becoming a trader myself a few years back, but decided that it would be an overtly dangerous career choice. I'd be great at scouting out my stock, and have fairly well tuned haggling skills. So far, so good! But, the problems would arise when it came to selling any of it on. I know I'd want to keep everything! Those confounded attachment issues! They also hold regular auctions at the King's Road site. I've not been to one, but I hear that they are as much fun as the flea markets, and just as well stocked with eminently buyable stuff.
