This place was recommended to us by a local guide. Lovely…read moreset up mostly as a garden. Amazing variety of juices and fruit plates. We arrived on a late Saturday morning so I was pleased to see a good selection of breakfast and lunch entrees. I opted for the chilaquiles with rajas, and my wife decided to go for a Huarache (thick tortilla) with mushrooms. Both dishes were decent in size. My chilaquiles were spicy but not to the point where I couldn't finish them. We ordered the Costa juice (pineapple, grapefruit, ginger and orange) The dinner menu looks very inviting too Bathrooms could use a little do over. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very chill and again fabulous service in Bacalar. Truth be told, La Pina was super close to our…read morehotel and I had a broken finger from an accident that occurred earlier. As we strolled up to the restaurant there was obviously a cook having a beak sitting on a small stool out front. I asked her what we should order. Without hesitation she replied huaraches. Now I believe the name refers to the shape being similar to the soles sandal's but the dish that arrives stacked with fresh crispy lettuce on top of a delicious mix of steak drunks and shrimp sitting on a 2mm thick handmade blue miaz tortilla. Two cream drizzles and the open fire kitchen flavours permeated the entire dish. We also ordered a felafel and a chilli rellano. Both were very good. Excellent authentic flavours packer full of loving care. Bravo and thanks.

This place was a gem of a find for us. Late evening walking around trying to find the right place…read more Checked a couple others that were on yelp but they didn't excite us. Saw this sign off the beaten path and decided to check it out. We almost passed on it cuz seemed kind of dark and maybe closed. Very glad we didn't. It looked dark because of the long garden corridor that leads to the main dining area. All open air, thus the name "patio". Stiff drinks . Friendly and attentive staff (noteworthy because most yelp comments for other places in Chetumal say decent food but crappy attitude from servers). I had El Pastor tacos and she went with shrimp Alfredo. Both were great. Sorry, we forgot to take pix before eating. Saw quite a few others eating the pizza. They did look very good but I'm can have pizza anytime at home. Seemed more of place that the locals go to although a table full of X-pats were there ( but they count as locals too) I use yelp to find places a lot. I check in to remember where I ate in case I return. I don't write many reviews unless the place stands out to me. This place clearly did. Highly recommended. Btw, 513 pesos + tip. Well worth it. Lastly, place is rated great on trip advisor.

We absolutely loved our breakfast! So much so we returned two additional days for dinner. My…read morebreakfast was the Paquete Vegano with red berry sauce, seasonal fruit, in this case, mango, banana, and I believe papaya, but can't remember the last item anymore. It also contained almonds, pecans and pepitas. So amazing! Yum!! The bf had some incredible looking huevos rancheros. He made them disappear quickly. For dinner, I ordered el caldo Tlalpeño. Too much cheese for my liking, but with fabulous flavor. My other half ordered a squid platter that he enjoyed. Tonight, I only ordered guacamole with tortilla chips. Simple, yet satisfying. I didn't have much of an appetite. My bf ordered a tuna platter in a red sauce with capers and black olives. The place was packed tonight and the a/c was off, making things quite miserable and sweaty. The service was adequate, not anything to jump up and down for or anything to complain about. I was not thrilled to hear that the owner was Italian and had an Italian chef. It'd be nice to see local ownership and assistance, rather than foreigners.
