From Instagram: The 'Nduja and Lemon pasta is a signature year-round favorite dish at NONA Pasta restaurants in Brussels. It features fresh spaghetti alla chitarra tossed with spicy Calabrian 'nduja pork sausage, fresh lemon, and Parmigiano Reggiano, with an option to top it with creamy stracciatella. I love that this restaraunt has an onsite pasta atelier. They keep to traditional Italian recipes while sourcing local ingredients for a true farm to table experience. The end result, a masterpiece! Everything's fresh, authentic and flavorful. This particular dish, in my opinion is the star of the show. It IS somewhat spicy without being overbearingly hot...this is part of the allure. I'm sure that I'll visit again before leaving Brussels and will, yes - order the exact same dish! Must eat outside and do a bit of people watching as visitors transit the city center. While busy I was seated as soon as I arrived and service was great. The ultimate experience. Give it a try!

They truly have trapped magic in a bottle. The menu isn't large but they do also have a rotating seasonal menu that accompanies it. All the dishes on the main menu are Italian classics done right. Most dishes have pork or beef. The pasta tasted very fresh and the portions were what you would want of a good Italian restaurant, plentiful. My "white" ragú was packed full of flavor and the beef was tender. The pecorino cheese used was perfect. All in all, this is the type of place that is always busy and with good reason. Since they don't take reservations lines do form at the front of both sister locations on the same block. Make the line, it moves fairly quickly. And if it doesn't it is still well worth it.

Pretty great discovery quite close to where I work!…read more A friend reserved a table for the 7 of us to eat here last night. I hadn't heard of it but knew it was Italian close to another good Italian restaurant I've been to a few times before. Service is fine (they seem to prefer speaking French over Dutch there and didn't switch when they heard us speaking English/Dutch so I assume their language capabilities may be limited?)...in any case, we waited a bit for drinks and food but nothing terrible and in all fairness they were busy. Atmosphere is quite nice/classy (but nothing you have to dress up for). We sat behind the restaurant on the terrace as it was beautiful so a shame to site inside ;) It was a well laid out terrace with a nice pond/fountain and seating was also pleasant. Food was what you'd expect for an Italian restaurant (not the best I've ever had but still good). They had good wines/bubbles available for drinks and a big selection of foods to choose from! I'd definitely recommend the pizza! They have so many different options, most around 10-12 eur! I shared a parmigana pizza and a pasta vongole. I like the pizza most (came with courgette and aubergine), the vongole was just ok...seemed to be lacking in flavor a bit, in my opinion. They also have a good selection of desserts, I can't say I wasn't tempted! Price came to about 20-25 per person, so very reasonable. I'll definitely go back with colleagues when we are in the mood for some high quality food that's easy on the budget!

Kebabs or frites looked most likely, but then Yelp suggested a decent pizza place just over the road from my hotel. The sit-down restaurant looks very pleasant, but the real star is the pizza. As you walk into the entrance hallway you're presented with a close-up view of a large wood-fired brick-lined pizza oven, with the main kitchen behind its' bulky presence. So far, so promising, but the best tools aren't much use without someone who knows how to use them. Luckily, Pantalone's pizzaiolo really knows his stuff. Don't get hypnotised watching the pizzaiolo at work! Walk past him and make a left. Place your order at the till and you'll get a receipt. Hand this to the pizzaiolo and then watch him go to work. A quattro stagioni was heaped with all the goodness I could have asked for and was made and cooked fresh, right before my eyes, in a little over five minutes. Sadly I was far too hungry to remember a picture. Finally, takeaway costs a couple of Euros less than if you eat in the restaurant.
