We found this charming café while driving east of Munich near route (Landstrasse) 388 in Germany…read more It opened recently right in the picturesque center of town near the Hummel Museum and combines a wide variety of savory items for breakfast, brunch and for later times of day: homemade cakes and tarts, ice cream, and a few alcoholic beverages like prosecco (which they can even add to certain otherwise non-alcoholic drinks for next to nothing). Their menu includes many organic and vegan foods in pleasant surroundings thanks in part to the neat decorations and quite a few greeting cards in English and German for various occasions, The day we visited, there were several terrace tables available, so we chose to sit outside and enjoy the view of passersby, including quite a few amateur bicyclists riding by in parallel to the Tour de France finishing far to our west. The table service was friendly, prompt, and several of the staff spoke English well. We were happy to see prices somewhat below those to be found in Munich. Our tasty cappucinos only cost about $3.00 each, for example. It's worth a visit if you're looking around the Munich area or on your way to Austria.

The servers were gracious and attentive. So was the owner! Food was among the best during my visit here and thru-out France. They used wonderful tomatoes, basil, oil and garlic. Don't think it had any lemon (something I like in bruschetta). My only complaint was the bread. It was not as crunchy as I like. I had the lasagna. It was wonderful. It had a light, creamy bolognese sauce. It also included some ham. It surprised me but added a wonderful taste. My wife had Hawaiian pizza. She loved her choice too. Another person in our party had the calzone. It was huge! She could not finish it. We also enjoyed a white asparagus soup. It was made with milk and light cream. They also added some parsley and chives. It was very good. But if I knew how large the dishes were, I would not have ordered the soup as well. I recommend this restaurant to all!
