Review #871 2025-044…read more Located in the north side outskirts of Höganäs, Pannkaksladan is a Scanian farmhouse dating back to the 18th century & the family-oriented restaurant started in 2010 serves a pancake buffet & other "good shit," & also offers family-friendly entertainment: kids playground, go-karts, children's theater, zoo (alpacas, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, hens), 55-meter long obstacle course, etc. If you're visiting during the summer, there's an Animal Safari/Pony Riding experience. Pony rides are offered during July high season daily from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, & animal safari reservations are available for booking. There's an alpaca, Bastian, & donkey, Birgitta, amongst other animals that are currently seeking animal sponsorship due to the tourism industry drop & recession. I agree with Pannkaksladan that "animals spread happiness & knowledge" but it's a costly endeavor that they need funding assistance for hay, concentrated feeding, farrier, veterinarian expenses, etc. There's 4 different sponsorship tiers: Bronze (50 SEK/month), Silver (100 SEK/month), Gold (200 SEK/month), Platinum (500 SEK/month), & a Corporate Package; they don't list if there are any benefits/perks for your donation or if there's a welcome gift. I would think having a perk may incentivize more donations. Will you help? The "pancake buffet" includes a variety of pancakes, chili con carne, chicken, pasta, oven pancake with pork & bacon, jams & sauces to build your own creations, & according to their website a must try is their famous "deep-fried pancake" that's almost like a donut. Not a fan of the buffet, there's also an a la carte menu: Nutella Banana (banana & Nutella pancakes topped with Nutella, ice cream, chocolate sauce, seasonal berries), Cinnamon Bun (2 cinnamon bun pancakes topped with whipped cream & seasonal berries), Summer Roll (2 thin pancakes topped with whipped cream & chocolate sauce), Bacon Cake (pancakes with bacon & maple syrup), Fika Pancakes (thin or American-style pancakes with jam & whisk). There's also gluten-, dairy-, & egg-free pancakes for those with dietary restrictions, but for those who are egg intolerant they don't guarantee that their meals are 100% egg-free. If this sweet meal isn't enough, you can also have ice cream & berries that's separate from the buffet. 2025 Buffet Prices (includes drinks: soft drink, water, coffee, tea, & milk): Adult: 235 SEK Children 5 YO - 12 YO: 125 SEK Children 2 YO - 4 YO: 95 SEK Due to the size of the facility, Pannkaksladan offers Segways for rent between 15-mins. up to a whole day. Their go-karts are kid-friendly & drivable in a controlled area with a game house next door for more fun. There's a children's theater with family-friendly shows & dancing as well as live music on different themed nights. We didn't come for the food but for the entertainment. We especially loved Bastian... he followed us as we followed him. ^_^ And the sheep kept "baa-ing" when the kids baa'ed back. My then 3 YO played in the kids playground & Sheriff's Office (though the language could be cleaner... sheriff's office "shithouse" & big load office "holy shit" & I'm guessing this is the restroom). LMAO My 9 YO had fun driving the go-kart but crashed a lot. Is this is sign of her future driving skills? Yikes! If your family is looking for a restaurant that also offers entertainment for your LOs, then check out Pannkaksladan.

The building dates back to 1835 where it was used as a factory for salt-glazed utensils and also housed a few large kilns. Today, the property has been converted into a fabulous mixed use retail, restaurant, cafe, grocery store, museum, office and artist studio space with a focus on vintage and gastronomy. It's a breathtaking space and a lot of fun to visit. Magasin 36 is split over two levels and what looks like two buildings. There is a cafe on the ground floor that makes it well worth the trip. When you enter the building, walk five steps in and order some of their mouth watering baked goods. I highly recommend their cinnamon and cardamom buns - I went back both mornings of my weekend away in Sweden for a cinnamon bun and a tea. Behind the cafe the food situation gets even better. You find the stunning local-focused grocery store called Hoganas Saluhall with tons of organic produce, freshly baked artisan breads, local farm products from around Skåne (the south western region of Sweden), meats and other specialty food delicacies. We picked up a lemon sourdough bread and a few interesting flat breads to bring to the birthday party later that afternoon. A great outing in the area and I heard from my friend, the restaurant upstairs is equally enjoyable.
