I wanted to love this tiny little food shop that combined three of my favorite things: pride, pizza and empanadas! I love the concept, the rainbows and all the mad selection and choices. It is located in a wonderfully hip and artsy part of the city.
I love pizza, but when in Chile, I was rolling with empanadas as often as possible. I was pretty excited to try an all mushroom and cheese empanada and another vegetable empanada with whole grain dough that had corn, cheese and some other things inside such as pesto. However, the mushroom and cheese empanada was heavy on the dough, light on the fillings and so greasy that oil spilled out with nearly every bite, creating quite an active and uncomfortable experience. Or a hilarious one, probably, to those with me :)
The whole grain dough of the other empanada was pretty good, but unfortunately the cheese was not melted and the veggies were not hot, nor were they mixed together. I could not finish that one. With so many amazing empanada places around, this place is probably better for its pizza and pride! read more
