When it comes to pizza in the Philippines, I have two sets of criteria - one, how it ranks against pizza in the U.S., and two, how it ranks against other choices in the Philippines.
Almost all pizza in the Philippines is awful. Almost tasteless, no matter what toppings you get, to the point of being mostly like the cheesy bread you get in the States. I'm not exaggerating for effect; the pizza slice you get at a 7-11 (the one that's been under the warmer light for 2 hours) in the U.S. is a better pizza than what you usually get in the in the Philippines. And I've had pizza all over the Philippines, so I'm basing this opinion on a huge sample size.
Don't get me wrong; there is good pizza available, almost always in a very large city i.e. Cebu or Manila). It's made at a place that an U.S. national or an Italian national owns, and he/she is the one actually making the pizza. As you might guess, these places are few and far between. And the pizza at these places is expensive.
This place is a huge fail against the U.S. and an "above-average" for pizza in the Philippines.
Not cooked enough, paper-thin crust, but, it did have more taste than most other pizzas.
As an additional minus, this place has completely indifferent customer service, AND, there was trash on the floor and dirty dishes/baskets/platters covering all the tables. People would just push all the dirty plates from the previous diners into a big pile in one corner of the table.
So, even though the pizza itself is above average for the Philippines, the poor customer service and the lack of cleanliness drag this place down to 1 star. read more
