We have been eating lunch at Pizza Ranch almost once a week for several years. Because of eating issues, I always have water with my meals as I do at Pizza Ranch. We usually ask for "ToGo" cups so I can have a beverage after eating. Today we were told next week they will begin charging $.79 for each cup. After spending more than $25 for our meals, they want us to pay for a ToGo cup???? They have funds to build a "FunCenter" onto the restaurant but this is the way they treat longstanding loyal guests. Recently we waited 30 minutes for more chicken (I counted 10 pieces, none that I wanted, that had been laying in the tray for sometime) using some excuse that it was nearing lunch time end. Their service has really gone down hill. I guess they didn't want to provide choice for those of us who were there! read more

During a vendor visit, Pizza Ranch delivered lunch. It was good pizza - nice crust although a bit too bready for my preference. We also had some hot wings which were quite spicy and soggy following delivery. Not sure of delivery options in Emporia but would likely try an alternative next time. read more

I go there for some of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. It is crispy, properly seasoned, tender and juicy. Staff is very responsive to customer requests. It is clean and well-maintained. I am not generally a fan of pizza buffets, I make an exception for their fried chicken. read more

I was on my way to visit my mom in Emporia. My mom LOVES SUPREME PIZZA. I always get her one from Pizza Hut when I come visit. I wanted to see if there was a local place just to try out. Checked Yelp and this was what led me here. I called in and had to have my pizza picked up. When I came in, I was surprised to see it was a Pizza and Fried Chicken Buffet. Too bad I was in a rush and couldn't sit and eat. I wanna take my family there and try it out when we can. But anyways, I picked up my pie and opened up the box and peeped what they were working with. Not too shabby. I had to take a slice to see if I approved. It's a thumbs up from me. Not sure, what was worse, the service or the food. Walking in, we met a redheaded manager, with next to zero interpersonal skills, and less sense of humor. Any question asked, was met with an attitude, and being stand offish. Being hungry, and always enjoying the food, from other Pizza Ranches, we decided to just ignore the attitudes, and eat. Or so we thought. WAY overcooked, and dried up chicken. When mentioned, it was replaced, by something much better. The pizza, was dry, overdone, pizzas, that had been left under the heating lamps, WAY TOO LONG. We debated between us, about demanding our money back. With being from out of town, and on our vacation, and tired, we had had, enough negativity for one day. As far as in Emporia, I'd recommend McDonalds, over Pizza Ranch. DO NOT EAT THERE. After a long drive all day with little to eat, there were multiple businesses surrounding the hotel I was staying at that were solid options, but one caught my eye: Pizza Ranch. I had heard of a Pizza Hut, a Panda Express, and Applebees, but I had never heard of a Pizza Ranch, and let me tell you, this might have very well been the best buffet I have ever been to in my life. You first enter, and the restaurant is themed well for a place that calls itself Pizza Ranch. The western decoration is on point, and fits the restaurant incredibly. You step up to the register and pay the somewhat expensive but reasonable price to get all you can eat. Then, the madness starts. I first started with two slices of pizza and two garlic sticks, and they were delicious, which should be expected from a joint that calls itself Pizza Ranch. What really blew me away, however, was the quality of their fried chicken and sides such as baked beans, mashed potatoes, and green beans. They were phenomenal, which wasn't expected but was a very nice surprise. Also, the drink selection is great, which just adds to the experience. After a couple more rounds of pizza and fried chicken, I made my way to the desert bar. There was only three deserts to pick from, but they were all phenomenal. I first tried the cookie pizza, which was great and had me running back for more. I then tried the soft serve machine, which was good for soft serve standards. Finally, I had the other desert pizza, which I couldn't tell exactly what it was, but it tasted incredible, like a warm, toasty cinnamon roll. They had a Salad bar, but I did it try it, but it did look very good. The bathrooms were clean, and the employees were very kind and came to clean the table often so plates wouldn't be in your way. Overall, I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough to anyone staying in the Emporia area. Go to the Pizza Ranch, and skip everywhere else. read more

I read the reviews of this place before, and most recommended the chicken. I am not a big fan of chicken, but I am a fan for pizza! As they say the make a combination of what you want and make sure you get first dibs. I was happy with the variety of food. Not to overwhelming, but exactly what hits the spot. The staff was great, our server made sure to take our plate as soon as she seen we would go get more food. We loved the ranch theme, the music was great, we got the whole country theme that we were looking for. When I come back to Emporia you can be sure Pizza ranch is my come back to place. Forgot to mention the price was incredible!! There were 6 adults and 4 children, we had a private party room with a server and paid $100 and change!!! Yup!! One more thing, it was very conveniently located right across the street from our hotel, and I mean right across. My pictures show a little bit of food, but that was due to the lunch hour rush, and you can believe that during the rush hour they kept the chicken and pizza rolling out nonstop. Oh boy... avoid this place! I don't know what the previous 18 reviewers are eating, but they need to have their taste buds recallibrated. For $10.50 per adult, you are treated to some of the worst buffet food around. "The Country's Best Chicken" has to be the most agriegous form of false advertising since the Donald Trump campaign. It was either left in the fryer for 6 minutes too long, or the oil hasn't been change in a month. Quite simply, it tasted burnt. This chicken is rivaled by Walmart delis across the nation. The corn tasted, as my mother desribed it, like medicine. I can confirm, it definitely had a medicinal quality to it. After sampling just 2 items, I was beginning to wish it was arsenic. The meal would not get better. After tasting the grean beans, which would be better severed bound together as a salt lick for deer, I decided to try the restaurant's namesake. It was... Not good. Just as most pizza buffets, Pizza Ranch hasn't solved the delima of the luke-warm, cardboard crust texture of pizzas that have been under the lamp for far too long. The only saving grace of this train wreck was the mashed potatoes and gravy. But if you're willing to spend that much money for some smashed spuds, knock yourself out. If you are traveling the turnpike or I-135 you must stop here to eat!! Good choices of pizza, decent salad bar and they even have fried chicken!! The chicken is by far the best I have had, especially at a buffet. The dessert pizzas are even good with a good selection. I do wish they would have toppings to put on their ice cream though. Visited on a Sunday evening. They were rather full but not beyond capacity. Temp was over 90 outside and they didn't have ice. Salad buffet was not well cleaned or stocked (4 bottles of Ranch dressing that were empty, eggs almost empty among many other items). Pizza was mixed quality depending on batches.
