Cafe Arte - Burger so good I had to change my underwear right when I got back to the AirBNB.

I'm going to be completely honest here. The wife was craving a burger and fries so we decided to…read morestop and try this place out on our short vacation. Hands down, the best burger I've had in my life. And let me tell ya, I've had a butt load of burgers, but this burger was simply perfect and delicious. We've ordered here everyday since we had it and it doesn't disappoint. The servers were extremely accommodating. Definitely a hole in the wall place especially speaking since we weren't expecting anything of it. For under 200 Mexican pesos you can't go wrong either.

I rarely write negative reviews but this place was SO BAD. Do not come here. We sat at one of the…read moretables outside by the street and the whole time loud cars and motorcycles were speeding by and spraying water (from the recent hurricane) in our direction. We should have moved inside but moving inside would not have made the food any better. I got the breakfast sandwich and basically refused to eat it. The scrambled eggs were the only good part. The bread was old and hard, there was like cold cuts ham on it and a piece of lettuce. My mom got the huevos rancheros and it was deep fried and tasted like it had ketchup on top of it. Both came with a side of potatoes and beans and the potatoes tasted like they were for a dinner entree with chicken. The whole situation was bizarre and just made me sad. Just really one of the worst meals I have ever had. Plus the inside of the restaurant looked disheveled and the bathrooms were awful. At least our server was nice.

I think I have to agree with some reviews here. There are better options for Italian food around…read moreSayulita. Pricey and very OK quality. It seems fancy until you get the food. I had their gnocchi and was pretty tasteless. The sauce was weird and very watery. Nice ambiance, but pretty empty. I should have wondered why. Now I know. Except those things, service was warm and friendly. That's all.

As Sayulita transitions from a sleepy surf town to a trendy tourist mecca, big city restauranteuers…read moreare making their way here. Increasingly, they bring big city attitude and behavior which is in direct contrast with the local business people and restaurant operators. One such case is Leda. We have enjoyed numerous meals at Leda in the 4 years that it has been open. Last night was the last. In a sheer display of audacity, the restaurant would not provide a wine list, instead suggesting that its list changes rapidly. I am ok w that. Where my problem lies is that when asked if we wanted Cabernet, Pinot, etc., the waiter directed us to a particular ($13 retail) Italian wine. Without sharing the price, and frankly, me not asking the price, I went on trust that my selection would be a reasonably priced wine ($40-$60). Anything higher I would have expected a confirming comment from the waiter. No such thing. After enjoying a wonderful dinner and 2 bottles of wine, I was shocked to see that the 2 bottles of wine cost more than the multicourse meal for 6. I was shocked and felt violated. Certainly I share some of the blame for not asking but going back to my opening comment, the owner (from LA) is just looking to gouge his transient guests. I did approach the owner and he was dismissive and non accommodating, rather suggesting it was my fault and apologizing for not training his staff well. Enjoy dinner here at your own risk. I am not the first to write a review like this. My suggestion is to enjoy a meal at one of the many local operators. They love having you and are in it for the long haul. I have cancelled my reservation for 10 next week at Leda.

Luis, our server tonight was wonderful, very attentive while providing wonderful dinner recommendations. We ended up ordering two out of the three dinner specials offered tonight: Rib Eye (1 kilo) over sautéed veggies and arugula. This dish is so large, the steak is large enough to share between 4 people! Cooked to absolute perfection, this medium rare piece of heaven is a MUST! Nice change from the tacos we've been having for the past 3 days.. Yellow tail, wow - y'all about freshness. Fish lover? Order this! Linguini pasta toased in a thick white cream sauce with mushrooms and TRUFFLE oil?! Yes please! This is deeeelishhhh! The Garlic Soup!? OMFG! If there's in secret/hidden gem on the menu it's this item! So good, I'm going to TIP that, you have to order it! The pizza is also yummy, cooked in an open fire place oven, the crust is perfect. Overall, a great atmosphere, ambiance and chill vibe. The food, delicious, the service - great!

Service was top-notch with just the right amount of encounters. We started with the quail and beet salad, then I had the mango habanero fish and he had the ribeye, and we finished by sharing a tiramisu. It was absolutely amazing all around. The lovely low-light atmosphere, star lamps strung from trees growing out of the courtyard, and soft music made this a dinner to remember.
