You know it's good when theres no English menu and everyone there are locals. I got the Bratwurst with kale and potatoes. The potato wedges are crisped wonderfully. The pork schnitzel was the best we had this trip as well. Their apple wine is homemade. They also sell Misplechen which is a Hessian beverage that translate to apples but it's actually made of loquat with a marinated pear on top. You can't leave without trying their chocolate pudding with freshly whipped cream on top! The family owners are so friendly. The place is welcoming and quaint. The owner there hand make goods like knitted items and ornaments (not sure if this is just during Christmas time) and you can take them for a donation which goes to handicapped children. We thought this was awesome as it's for a good cause and we get to get some souvenirs hand made by locals. It's different from the Christmas markets. This will most definitely always be a stop whenever flying in to the Frankfurt airport! The name of this place is appropriate because this place is fire!!!

We were given a table next to Merlina Mercouri's picture in black and white on a side table, a white amaryllis next to her. Furniture brown, decoration white, and X-mas in the restaurant. Are we in heaven or on a funeral. Ordered mixed startes, cold & warm, mixed meat dish. The mixed starters were fine, salads, pastries. All well prepared and tasty. The main dish was served on a plate and was a huge disappointment. Looked like pre-prepared lumps of meat cooked on water. Grilled yes, but most probably during the day to be able to meet the amount of people to be served.. The waiter was smiling from ear to ear as his restaurant was filling up. Asked him if he had some sauce to go with the meat. He smiled and said: No way the cook will be able to prepare something. Honest, yes, but added to the disappointment. Could not match the fact that the restaurant was full with our experience. We tried some of the dish but tasted strange.Deceided to leave and have a coffee elsewhere. Normally I will take serious stars away for two things: 1) WC not in order (not functioning) and 2) weak service. Hindukusch served up both of those. On the other hand there was only one guy working (presumably the owner). Guy was too busy talking on mobile to keep an eye on our table. Drink orders were forgotten, dishes stayed too long on table. This was a Sunday evening fairly early. But I still hesitate too give him a one or two star rating. The food was really, really good and priced OK. We'll probably be back at some point and hopefully they'll have their plumbing fixed and more staff available. Again, food was A-OK.
