I used to love Pizza King. Literally every night I used to stumble towards one of these stores in order to grab one of their pizzas, so when I saw this branch of the chain happily situated along the road I was drunkingly using to trek home upon, I couldn't resist popping in to grab something to eat. Sadly, the prices have gone up since I last used one of these places. Although it's buy one get one free on pizza, the cheapest pizza, a Margherita, cost £6.80 for a 9", £8.60 for a 12", £10.80 for a 14," and £12.80 for a 16", whilst the prices for anything other than a Margherita were a lot more. A 9" Garlic Mushrom costs £7.80, and a 9" Four Cheese Pizza £9.80. Garlic bread was better value at £1.95, a can of drink cost 80p, and a bottle of water £1.
The pizza itself tasted ok, and I still enjoyed it, despite my great sadness at the cost increases, but i don't think I'll be purposefully heading to a Pizza King anytime soon. read more
