I had table reservations for Saturday 11th April 2009, the day of the Cardiff vs. Toulouse game.
The first thing I noticed when I entered the restaurant was that it smelt of drains, not just a faint wiff but a very strong smell. Pizza Italia is an Italian restaurant that had decided that for that day they weren't offering any pizzas. The reason for this? Pizza takes too long to cook.
Prices on the menu were hiked far higher than earlier in the week, dishes that had cost around £8-9 now costed £10-14. Portions were tiny, members of the party that had lasagne were left still hungry after finishing their 'meal'.
The quality of the food was terrible. Where was the meat in the lasagne? There was no salad, garlic bread or even fries offered with this.
A table of 20 was booked but after discovering what Pizza Italia were up to, 14 people walked out. The ones that stayed had to put up with the appauling food.
I would highly recommend that people wanting decent food, let alone Italian food, stay the hell away from this place.
